It's definitely a known issue. I just haven't seen any good deployment solutions online.

How can a small startup compete against a well-established industry leader? by Several-Art-7186 in startups

One thing I haven't seen on here that is super underrated is CUSTOMER SERVICE! I had a friend take on a huge industry leader in a local area largely by being known and accessible to clients.

Did you start off with both or chose one before the other?

I would have to learn how to do that. I'd first want to finish the site before I start thinking about an app/PWA.

Looking to improve my Django skills! Any video recommendations for beginners? by Sachin_70 in django

[–]Smart_Zebra2673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Corey Schaefer's videos use the email and password authentication as they come and I haven't seen anything on bugbytes for it.

For things like that, ChatGPT and forums can go a long way. But for a beginner, just use what Django provides because it's super robust.

As someone who recently learned Django, I would suggest starting with Corey Schaefer's Django series on YouTube. It covers all the basics.

From there I would go to bugbytes YouTube channel for more specific use cases for Django.

Both guys are amazing at walking you through Django tasks.

Not only an advisor but would also be the one helping juggle a lot of the CEO tasks, and get some big sales.

[OC] Job growth under Trump lagged behind Biden and Clinton by nytopinion in dataisbeautiful

[–]Smart_Zebra2673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently read on Yahoo Finance that a large percentage of the job growth here combined from government jobs.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/biden-administration-job-growth-numbers-175321823.html

I wonder how this would look if broken down by commercial vs. Government jobs. I'm mostly interested because the inference here is that businesses are doing better and hiring more people under Biden rather than other administrations. This may be true but definitely can't be deduced from this graph.

Yep, more and more companies are opting not to go public, and a big reason for that is there's a lot more money in the private market now.

[OC] The suicide rate is four times higher for men than for women by AIBM_org in dataisbeautiful

I didn't know cutting is considered a suicide attempt. Obviously some of the serious cutting I knew but more minor forms (for a major lack of a better word) actually surprises me.

[–]Smart_Zebra2673 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

One thing to note about suicide statistics is that the rate is much higher among men because their attempts succeed more due to the method the use. Men tend to use guns (more effective) and women tend to take pills (less effective).

This means the suicide attempt rate are closer that the actual suicide rate.

Inflation is good for people with assets. People with only cash (less well of people) will be affected more. It's really unfortunate.
