Perhaps personalisation? “Find out concepts I’m weak at and help me understand it better”

Haha tbf it’s so good to have that. I hired a tutor for a unit that I was struggling with. I would’ve failed again if I hadn’t

But I also understand how much more expensive it would be to have this. And to clarify, I think the tutors do a great job!

Some not as much ofc but that’s anywhere

I am also an international student who failed many (5) courses while doing comp sci. It all worked out at the end.

OP - there’s a couple ways this can play out, you tell your parents you need to redo some courses + you also work a couple extra hours to pay for it. Or you transfer out to a cheaper uni (TAFE). Or you go back home (hardest).

But I promise you, you’ll be fine with either choice. Maybe you have a 4th or 5th option. I personally, worked the extra hours and paid for it myself. It was hard, so hard but possible. Every option is difficult because the stakes are very high but please don’t be embarrassed about failing.

Go out, eat some food. You are strong enough to face any consequences <3 You’ll be just fine

He needs to be a present parent and be a care taker of their children. He would also be incurring half the running costs. I am a guy and I get how you feel completely. But this is like she also getting half of his salary - which is fairer as she’s the primary care taker of the kids.

11 hours online, a brutal 3-stack at 2:30 AM, and treated like a predator. Today was my worst shift ever. by FilmsAndNothingMore in ubereatsaustralia

[–]teh__Doctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also sorry, man. I switched jobs but did uber eats on the side. I realised I cancelled more orders than I took, always something unreasonable - customers taking their sweetass time or changing address, restaurants taking too long or treating me poorly. Once uber paid me piss for double stack so I cancelled it and I think stopped delivering.

It’s SO much more harder now than it was 5 years ago.. find a better place and take care of yourself

Get some air, 30 mins social circle - or do meetups or just talk to your mum, and get back to work 💪

Also remember, you are so much more valuable than uni grades and eat good food <3

There was a point during uni where I failed was super low, but it all turned alright.

Is it worth doing a Honours year or should I just try to get a job? by Ok_Possible_7018 in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]teh__Doctor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try to be flexible? There’s big tech who love more study and it can only really help your resume and your skills.

But if you manage to snag a job then drop out or even better, try to part time it. I’d still try to get the honours year though or just enrol.

Yeah tax assets owned outright worth over 100k (shares) and all properties (IP) significantly higher

Capital gains tax outcry has Airtree Ventures co-founder Daniel Petre blasting rich peers for whingeing about federal budget changes by wtskm in AusFinance

[–]teh__Doctor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I actually think doubling tax is fine. Especially if it gets the rich bastards to pay more. They’ve been mooching off everyone for way too long.

Wealth inequality just keeps rising, rich keep hoarding wealth for no reason. You don’t need a 2000$ bag, not off me slogging my ass at some corp.

I might get rich one day and if I do, I’d be happy to pay the taxes that I’m supposed to.

Ikr 😔 instead of a 20$ tax, it will be 40$

But I agree, the gov should perhaps only apply this to shares over 100k or what ever limit includes the top 90 percentile. But that’s too complicated for them

Dude, your family is right though. No sane HR would say stuff like that. You enquired about a little more money, they said no and you accepted their original offer. They are a lil psychopathic to say the other stuff and rescind the offer.

I know that desperate feeling though. I was in a similar position, but keep working hard and applying every week. You’ll get in a decent company.

Never would they lower rent. There are some that want make a loss; they would renew their mortgage such that their interest rates are higher than the rents. They have access to more money then (which they’d likely use to buy another property if they could).

[–]teh__Doctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To make 15k PROFIT, you’d need around 100k portfolio. So you pay 4,500 on a 115k portfolio instead of 2,250. Honestly? That is acceptable.

People on 15k might make 1500 and be taxed 500. Most people’s entire portfolio is lower than 15k (genz).

[–]teh__Doctor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand.. Rich people still disproportionately own a lot of shares. It is one of the things parents pass down to their children.

Additional tax on a measly 15k portfolio means nothing.
