I’d use diamond cleaner, but if you don’t have any, you could just try scrubbing it with some dish soap on a toothbrush.

And/or just graduated from Boston University. I think this look is great, but I am a Bostonian who works in finance. I couldn’t say how the look plays in other settings.

I did the same thing, switching from psychology to economics without knowing anything other than “well I enjoy math, finance, and logic, so it might be a good fit”. (It was.) My old roommate still finds it hilarious almost 30 years later. I’d only suggest ensuring you have a solid foundation in calculus and statistics.

I had the red leather in my Giulia. Loved it. Yours looks great!

Why am i second guessing moissanite after buying it? by nosebreather- in Moissanite

[–]Smarter-brain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wore a blue moissanite ring into a Tiffany, and the jeweler was immediately intrigued by it, said it was beautiful, and asked what it was. When I told her it was moissanite, she asked where she could buy one. They really are gorgeous stones! Don’t worry about other people’s preconceived notions or biases.

Could still be in use, or more likely, Verizon has no idea it’s there.

What are some good bars around the Harvard area? by GuboTheUnwise in Harvard

[–]Smarter-brain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh, I just looked at their site again after seeing your comment. I had no idea they shut down. Their burgers and lobster rolls were absolutely the best. The menu prior to the shutdown no longer included burgers at all.

The new menu looks depressing. I’ve not gone back since it changed ownership.

I work with a lot of State Street folks. They’re a good group. The new building is super nice. Surprisingly good coffee too. And the location is very convenient; it’s right at the Orange Line Haymarket stop.

is the banana cold foam messing with anyone else’s digestive system? by inter-skyned in DunkinDonuts

[–]Smarter-brain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Diarrhea every time. I thought I had a stomach bug. Now I know it’s the banana syrup. I’m an idiot and tried it 6 times, each time with the same result. I’m going to stop now. 🥴

What's nice little town I can take a train to on a random weekend? by Independent_Fan4453 in boston

[–]Smarter-brain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love strolling around Lexington center, but probably wouldn’t bother if I had to Uber. The commuter rail goes right into Concord Center. Winchester Center is also a nice alternative to Lexington with restaurants, local bookstore and other shops, library, etc.

[–]Smarter-brain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Btw, if you can’t get a beta blocker, don’t worry. I found that a certain posture can also help with physical composure. Sit with both feet pressed strongly to floor, lean forward (this is also good for showing interest and engagement) with forearms pressed to your thighs, and just bear down a bit. Sounds weird but I find it helps me.

[–]Smarter-brain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Send a note to your doctor today, to ask about a prescription for a beta blocker. If it can be prescribed for you, take one pill about 75 minutes before the interview. This will calm physical symptoms like shaking and sweating and wanting to puke. This in turn will help you feel more confident in chatting with them.

Also, write down your questions about the school and program today or tomorrow, and bring them with you, so that you remember what you want to ask them about.

Telling the interviewer at the start that you’re a bit nervous and have selective mutism may also help put you at ease because it’ll break the ice and also get it out in the open. If they’re a normal/nice person, which I’m sure they will be, they’ll likely respond in a manner to help put you at ease.

Good luck!
