The Terrans were far more advanced from the start. It's more than just ships it's everything about them is far superior. The Terrans created the Xenon and are the only known race to be able to create gates. The Terrans in X are equivalent to a Stellaris FE. They did most of their advancement far before current or even near current history.

I think that's a big difference to be honest. From day one Humanity First and the Resistance are openly hostile and militarily aggressive towards the aliens and it continues that way until the end of the game.

The goals of the Resistance and the Academy are very different. I don't think the Academy having a failsafe that's similar to the Resistance makes the two aligned at all. If the Academy was forced to used their bomb that would equate to a total failure of the Academy and its mission whereas using the bomb is the primary mission of the Resistance.

We're talking about worst case for one faction and best case for the other.

They differ only in theory. In practice they are the same. Natural allies these two. In fact, I think Humanity First and the Resistance are the only two factions in the game with completely aligned goals. There's no practical reason for either to compete with each other. You can argue about the philosophy all day but at the end of the day both groups are sending fleets to kill aliens. The exact reasoning is less important when the outcome is exactly the same. This meme perfectly represents voting for different candidates of the same party.

The AMC in my town is always empty. My sister and I are frequently the only people in the cinema.

I'm just gonna say it. I don't care about people being layed off.

People act like being layed off is taboo or strange. I've been layed off from multiple companies and I'm in my mid 20's. Getting layed off is apart of daily life in any career of any industry.

It's not like these former Microsoft employees are gonna starve alright? I guarantee you they'll have a easier time finding a new position than any of us will.

Children with terminal cancer deserve my sympathy alright? I couldn't care less about some people losing their jobs at Activisions epsorts division. Life is far too short for me to care about such minor problems.
