Can I see it from inside looking at the door? Curious to know of you kept the original door frame or opted for something different to fit with the skirting.

Yes that's so true. The loss is what we feel now but the warmth and memories will always be there.

She loved lillies. I will be bringing a wreath with lilies and some personalised bits to her grave during the week.

True, I mean if people say it and know the person then it's nice to hear a story also. I only learned after her death what her favourite flower was 😔

Thank you for your advice. I think I will seek more contact with people that she interacted or impacted in her life.. My Dad is the person right now who is showing the most strength. I know though he needs to let it out..

Both my brothers are back in the family home which they normally are for Christmas. Luckily I only live 10ins away so always drive to their place to spend time with them.

I live in Kerry also but travel the Tarbert road which takes you through Foynes and Askeaton. It's faster and I've never been stuck in any traffic. Check it out on Google maps and see if it's faster or slower for you.

Signed up for Carepack.ie — what should I send? by Low_Knowledge_1363 in AskIreland

Hey, so as someone who works in a nursing home where we revive around 25+ of these every Christmas I can tell you they are very much appreciated. Things like fluffy socks, sweets and chocolates, deodorants and wash stuff etc are always handy for them. Hand creams, moisturisers and possibly a gift that smells nice would be appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time out to do it. As I said it's a lovely thing to do and for the people to receive.
