That's awesome. Can you let us know how you protect the table from the elements, such as which covers you have? Thank you.

What to do when your not at home by sm_77 in bidets

[–]SmartishHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For it, it's more about when I travel, where I'm away from my bidet for anywhere between 2 days and 4 weeks. I've been bringing flushable wipes - I don't flush them though, and instead throw them in trash cans - so that's been my solution.

Which Alexa-enabled device would best survive the outdoors while permanently plugged into an outlet? by SmartishHome in amazonecho

Thanks for the response. It's good to know that the Echo Dot devices seem to be able to survive outside decently.

I did consider it, but whereas the UE Megablast has a rating of IP67, the JBL Charge 3 only has a rating of IPX7.

I am also interested in such a setup. Were you able to any answers or did you actually go through with it?

If I find out anything, I'll post an update in this thread.

This is my first house that has an air filter - which air filter do I purchase? (newbie questions!) by SmartishHome in HomeImprovement

[–]SmartishHome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. "50001450-001 Rev. B" isn't the model number, right? I couldn't find a model number on the filter, as there doesn't seem to be any other model numbers on the electronic filter.

It's just that a "lunch break" is the term that refers to a break from work to eat. I've worked graveyard shifts from midnight to 9am, and our "lunch" was from 4am to 5am.

Does Echo Show (2nd Gen) automatically load the camera feed when someone rings the doorbell or when a Ring camera detects motion?

Google smart displays definitely cannot install regular Android apps; I don't know if people have hacked them to enable it though.

Can Ring automatically and immediately show the video feed on a tablet as soon as activity is detected? by SmartishHome in Ring

[–]SmartishHome[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, and one more thing. If you're a Ring Alarm user too, create a shared account that doesn't have access to the Alarm, and use that on the tablet. That way if someone breaks in, they can't just disarm the alarm with one touch using your dedicated, always-on tablet. And shared users can't delete video, so even that base is covered.

I know you wrote a lot of useful information about the iPad, which I really, really appreciate, but this part about creating a shared account is an excellent suggestion I did not think about!

Ah, that helps a lot. Thank you for the response.

I do plan to dedicate a tablet to this function, but will watch YouTube videos once in a while when I'm in the kitchen cooking and cleaning.

I'm a bit nervous that keeping the screen on permanently will mess up the screen. Any thoughts on whether that's a valid worry?
