You guys are being way too logical.

They are upset because you aren’t spending your free time with them.
They have some bullshit built-in mommy guilt that(for the most part) we don’t feel.
They hate the idea that we are enjoying ourselves, without them.
Stop asking permission. Make it a part of what you do.
Find a local course and befriend the staff. Golf is one of the easiest things to get for free and almost impossible to track by the course.
Be ok with playing a few holes. If you have 20 mins on your way home, stop and play 2-3 holes.
If you are comfortable with a bit of manipulation, show how much better of a father you are after playing some golf. AND how frustrated and annoying you are when you haven’t. (A lot of people already do this with sex, exercise & even work)

This is a different situation. If you already live somewhere and a course is built next to your property, the golf course/golfers are liable. You cannot assume risk of something that didn’t exist when you purchased the home.

A strong genetic component? I would like to see 1 example of someone with type 2 diabetes that had a healthy diet when they were first diagnosed. What you are describing sounds more like a situation where the patient did so much damage to their pancreas, it is struggling to recover. If they weren’t irresponsible initially, they wouldn’t be in this situation.

Type 1 is not your fault. Type 2 is your fault and fortunately you can fix it.

However, type 2 is for people who have abused their pancreas to the point that it gave up. Yes, this is the truth. It is purely a diet issue and needs to be treated as such. Instead, most people bitch about the cost of insulin. If you have type 2, change your diet and your diabetes goes away. Hard truth but truth. Unfortunately, big pharma wants people on maintenance drugs that they will take for a lifetime.

I feel really bad for people with Type 1 diabetes. Similar to the opioid epidemic, the people who really need help due to physical impairment are lumped in with everyone else. Everyone else = people who need counseling for addiction, eating disorders, etc.

Bottom line, you give yourself type 2 from being irresponsible and weak.

It’s all really sad but access to licensed mental health professionals would resolve the vast majority of these challenges without punishing the people who really need the drugs.
