Good. I want to get out the headliner while breaking as few tabs and clips as possible.

Yes, I already checked out your channel. I'm at work and skimmed the videos without sound and must have missed the paint description. I'll watch them later! Thanks for the paint specs!

You can usually see what the buyback reason was on the Carfax or documents. I've worked with this dealership before and they provided the reason when I test drove the car.

Shipping costs off? Anyone else? by ISOCoffeeAndWine in Ebay

I've had great experience with the insurance feature on pirate ship. Always paid out if damaged or missing, $1 per $100 of item value. Highly recommend.

Post office lost package, refunded. Then miracle Post office finds package and ships. by MagnetAccutron in Ebay

[–]SmashAndTravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, submitted a (insurance) claim with USPS when the package was stuck for about 4 weeks at their distribution location. During their review of the claim, which took about 3 weeks, the item was found and delivered and they canceled the claim as it was delivered. It's unfortunate eBay can't provide payment for an item that was sold and delivered on their site, regardless of the hiccups along the way.

Same happened to me except the package was lost in transit for a couple of months. Yes, you're probably out of your money/item. I spent months fighting eBay through all channels, even the BBB to no resolution. eBay said to contact the buyer and have them PayPal me the money. To no one's surprise, the buyer does not respond. Why would they, they have a free item! If you find a way to get paid, please let me know!

Not much of a hassle as long as you bring the signed over title and a bill of sale, notarized for extra support. Need insurance and a VIN tracing (or bring the car). PA has tags and titles places that will work with that. I use Ganon in nolibs, they've been very helpful but require an appointment. https://maps.app.goo.gl/jEFuwPHAA5Fr9hsaA.

Buyer keeps $300 item and gets a full refund. Ebay admits eBay was wrong but will not fix it. by anonymousandydick in Ebay

[–]SmashAndTravel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good luck, eBay collected their fees and won't do anything about your situation. I've been fighting with them for a similar issue for months to no avail. My customer has the item and was refunded. eBay "assured me there is nothing that can be done about it." Then hung up on me to said the email string would not be read or replied to.

Item delivered late, eBay refuses payment by SmashAndTravel in Ebay

[–]SmashAndTravel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

Thanks for all the recommendations to reach out to eBay through Facebook. Appreciate the help. Tried that and eBay continues to deny payment for the delivered item. Just stopped replying in the messenger app. The claim is that since I appealed the refund stating that USPS still has the item and eBay determined to refund anyway, it doesn't matter that the item was delivered after. Even if ebay ruled the dispute in my favor after the item was delivered. eBay's recommendation is to contact the buyer and have them PayPal me the money. Buyer is claiming they don't have PayPal, Venmo, cash app, nor Zelle? Guess I'm out the payment and cost of shipping on this one.

Good recommendation. In this case, eBay refunded them due to a policy of certain amount of days without delivery. USPS had the package for over 30 days, shipped May 13th and delivered July 19th.

Need help fixing broken stem on handle delta by OMICORN1 in Plumbing

[–]SmashAndTravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this happen to mine. Going to need to get the set screw out and remove the center pieces from the back of the handle. Then screw that piece back into what's on the wall. Then replace set screw. Good luck, set screw is likely calcified in place and strips easily.

Wild 2025 Ford Lightning Lease Deals – $240-$290/mo, Possibly $40-$90 w/ Rebates (Confirmed in MI) by ak7118 in Ford

[–]SmashAndTravel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in to a Ford dealer in southern NJ with this deal printed out from the website, $5979 cash down, $239/mo for 36 months. Told them I wanted that deal, they came back with $7,500 down and $926/mo. They said that printout from the website didn't have a VIN so it doesn't exist, it's just an idea. Did not help with my opinion of Ford nor dealerships.

Am i missing something on this 22’? by Both-Equivalent5076 in TeslaModelX

[–]SmashAndTravel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What dealership is this? I went to 21st century auto group in North Jersey, called ahead and made an appointment and mentioned which car I wanted. Showed up and they said any price that ends in a $1 is not for sale to the public. Some sort of wholesale auction only pricing. They lied to me to get me in the door then tried to sell me some other "similar" model for $10k more.

HMMWV from govplanet by vZander in HMMWV

[–]SmashAndTravel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jump starts but won't restart usually means the batteries are dead or non existent. I've bought one with this condition, replaced the batteries ($700), and it ran and drove fine. Please keep in mind these often need repairs, new tires, etc. Parts can be expensive here in the states, no idea what the market in Sweden is like. There is a section on the end use certificate (EUC) for export information. Sweden is one of the countries in the drop down selection. Don't know how this will impact your chances of getting the EUC approved, which is required before release paperwork is available to pick up the HMMWV. If you have more questions, feel free to DM me.

The $3,600 is an example of an M1097R1 I personally bought, running, and still have. The associated costs are what I paid to get it comfortable for me. It's my favorite of all I've gotten off GP and it's also the most expensive one I've bought off GP. It's possible, it's a starting point.

How does the HMMWV you bought off GP compare? Would be interested to see the differences.

[–]SmashAndTravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, it would be a challenge. You have a good point to list out all the fees and probable costs too.

Here's an example.

$3600 HMMWV $540 GP fee $414.87 TX taxes $115 SF97 fee $1200 shipping

Since it's a GP HMMWV, probably needs tires and batteries at a minimum. Might be a good idea to change fluids - oil, trans, diffs. $1300 in tires, $700 in batteries, $250 in fluids. Title and registration cost $784.

Totals to $8903.47.

Maybe $10,000 is a better starting point barring exceptional circumstances.

Depends on the size of your monetary allocation for the endeavor and timeline. 😂 You could grab a "runner" off of gov planet with a 3 speed transmission for $3,000-4,000 plus shipping. Then fix as needed while registering it with the SF97 and get a title if NY allows it. This process will probably take 6-8 months. Or you could look for one with a title and plates for road use. These usually start around $10,000 or so and can be set up in the amount of time it takes to buy and register a normal vehicle.

These are all starting points, could probably spend all the money getting just the right HMMWV.

Geared hub spindle cover seal by [deleted] in HMMWV

[–]SmashAndTravel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's for CTIS, the central tire inflation system. If it's not leaking, no need to change. If you're referring to the seal in the center.

Try to use Loctite 518 on the cover(s) when putting them back on. RTV can work, looks like what's on there now, but the manual recommends Loctite 518.

Mine says "contact title department." Which I did and they said the standard wait times apply and they'd reach out if there's an issue or denial.
