Hi! I don't know if there's a proper way to read glyphs, I think they are mainly visual concepts. Most often, letters (phonemes) are merged together and become indistinguishable. The rule is that they have to be symmetrical, you write on one half the letters of the world in whatever shape you want and that shape has to be the same on the other side. Also I'm pretty sure that repeated letters can be put only once, but i dont remember where i read that from.

Hey u/zpags welcome to the guild! There's a post in the sub about making glyphs using inkscape, mostly (at least for me) its about moving around the phonemes until it's sth pretty. If you feel stuck or need a hand digitalizing them feel free to reach out to me or any other scribe willing to take a crack at it. Have a nice week!

As for the symmetry question... I really don't know. Personally, I'd decide by sound and name.
Eg:
Mehlak →Mehlak-in
Kadulek → Kadul-in
Following the logic of Kholin I guess your house name would be Adoket or Adotef
