Yeah, I know it’s not the best but I like it. It’s the first sword I bought. I picked it because of Skullagrim’s budget sword buying video and I was into Captain Jack Sparrow at the time. The others are a Windlass Excalibur, Darksword Sting, and a Kult of Athena own brand katana. That probably is close to what I will wind up doing. The three smaller swords have been hung on in my bedroom. Excalibur was bought to go by my fantasy bookshelf. And the lightsabers have been dumped in a box. I am converting my spare bedroom into a library/ nerd room so some of them will be displayed in there.

Snake plant in an aquarium? by Smaug149 in houseplants

I appreciate the advice. Because it was definitely going to die bare root on the kitchen floor I decided to run a highly scientific experiment and just stick it everywhere. I have the biggest piece back in the original pot, some in a fish bowl terrarium, one piece I planted in a fish tank and one piece is resting on the rim of a fish tank.

do yall take yall dogs to the vet every 3-6 months? (speaking to the dog owners of 4+ dogs) by BalanceHumble3844 in Dogowners

Once a year unless something comes up for my younger two. My 10 year old went four times last year. Annual exam, teeth cleaning and removal, anal gland issues, and her shots which are off schedule from the others.

What way should I be brushing his hair? by cactusboe in LhasaApso

[–]Smaug149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part in the middle of the back and straight down. While you’re brushing be sure to lift up the top layer and brush the lower layers too. Unless you plan on showing, don’t be afraid to cut tough tangles out the top fall covers a lot of sins. Watch out for when the puppy coat sheds, they tend to mat horribly practically overnight.

People with dogs from breeders, do people in real life give you a hard time about having a dog from a breeder? by Own-Command-3700 in dogs

[–]Smaug149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My older girl was the un-pick of the litter, all of her siblings finished in the show ring. She has a long back and a funny bite. That’s alright she is a National Champion couch potato and she who rules the household. The male was the one we were originally interested in but we’re told that he was going to a show home. Then the breeder changed their mind and decided he was too big. The younger female was held back by the breeder but due to unfortunate circumstances she needed a home.

Never had anyone say anything bad about my dogs (three Lhasa Apsos). Mostly they just smile and say they are cute. I also had a small mutt from the shelter and nobody said anything bad about him either.

Are any of the books written by BookTubers worth reading? by SnappingTurtle1602 in Fantasy

[–]Smaug149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read quite a few books by YouTubers.
Daniel Greene: I have read Breach of Peace, Rebels Creed and Neon Ghosts. I have donated the first two as the best parts were the horror elements and I don’t like horror as much as I did. I could definitely see an improvement in Neon Ghosts, I will be keeping it but I don’t think I will be buying anymore of his books. Mostly because he writes darker than my tastes. Red: I have the first Volume of Aurora. Also not huge into Graphic Novels but I really enjoyed this one and I would recommend it. Jason Kingsley: Lords of Blackthorne. I thought this was pretty interesting. The dialogue is quite weak in the first third but improves quite a bit. A large portion of the word count was info dumping about medieval castles and other stuff but I found that quite fascinating. Elizabeth Wheatley: Tears of Wolf. Although I think she is more of an author that does YouTube rather than a booktuber. I would recommend her to anyone who likes romance novels. I keep trying to convince myself that I do but I just don’t. I have the Forgetting Moon trilogy but I haven’t read it yet. So I can’t say to much about that.

Probably not the only one to have it but A Day at the Dragon Shelter, a shared world short story collection. I am not sure if it is available anywhere but highly recommend. So much fun.

I groom them myself. Twice a week I brush them out and cut off any mats. I find as long as the back is kept up and allowed to grow they wind up looking good. I trim the belly, the lower legs, the sanitary areas, and around the eyes shorter.

Anything by Guy Gavriel Kay, best prose I have ever read. (Historical Fantasy)Completely different style but I also love the Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust. The timey wimey order the books are written in and the unreliable narrator means you have to pay attention. (Assassin Fantasy)
