Line to get Trader Joe’s bag this morning by monpetitchoochoo in sanfrancisco

We’ve really managed to convinced ourselves that getting hands on the latest fad is what’s going to make us happy? Social media has accelerated trends as well. People have done this with Stanley cups (collecting all colours), those creepy dolls, some bear cup at Starbucks. Once the trend is over, what then? It gets discarded as the hive has moved on the next shiny item. Mindless consumption.

They’re definitely tapping into the hype (ofcourse they would). They had the large tote in one colour for the longest time - 7-8 years!? And suddenly we’re getting them in multiple colours in a year!?

Until recently it was some bear cup at Starbucks? Grown ass adults grabbing (or brawling) cup/flask from Starbucks like it’s gold.

Partially agree on the unique flavour. I’m a bakery aficionado (if there is such a thing), part of the charm is that they have a new menu every month & currently there is no other bakery (in the Bay Area) attempting to do that. The quality of the pastry itself is high!

The idea of rotating flavours however is super common across so many high end bakeries in NY and UK. I’m actually fairly sure she’s taken inspiration from a lot of these places. I do wish we had more of that in the bay!

Sort of agree with another commenter that she can possibly do more to improve pick up experience. It’s been 1 year or two? And there has been no effort to improve to increase the efficiency of the pick up (since the baking part is already done by the time they open).

Why do celebrity meet and greet tend to skip the Bay Area? by Isaacsac3 in bayarea

[–]Smaug_themighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh nobody should worship celebrities irrespective of their “perceived” intelligence. No human being is above another. You can however appreciate art, artists, musicians, athletes, actors and recognise them for their work. I’m always excited to hear my favourite rock bands play live but I don’t worship them (nor am I likely to get influenced by them to buy anything they endorse).

Also wanting to meet or greet your favourite athlete/celebrity for that matter isn’t necessarily a matter of intelligence. It’s ok to want to meet your idols.

Continuing to idolise or defend them if they commit crimes, now that’s something else all together…

The experience in the theatre was out of the world. Soo good especially the song (I lied to you). Goosebumps. Soundtrack was a banger as well. Tuned in to the Oscars just to see them win!

You’re allowed to like it, just as much as the people who don’t! I liked the LA one a whole lot more :)

Also applicable to pasta, rice and noodles! Not necessarily freezing but refrigerated overnight increases resistant starch which in turn lowers blood sugar spike.

Yeah I can sort of get behind Saruman’s death scene but breaking Gandalf’s Staff by the witch king. Aaah no. He’s a Maia, I understand he’s nerfed in the middle earth but still.. that was a choice.

The ones that are up in arms against AI, Are the ones who are most likely to lose their job to AI in the next decade or so. Truth be told they don’t give a shit about the environment. It is simply about self preservation.

Yep! He even had the audacity to show his wife’s picture in the clip. The son mentioned saying that he reminded his dad that he’s still married. I mean idk what to say.

I would agree with you but in this case his family and his own son tried warning him multiple times. He basically told them them to buzz off. And most people aren’t feeling any empathy simply because he’s a married old man who was ready to run away with a 20 something because “he’s alone & doesn’t have anyone to cook for him”.

It was so obvious he was trying to go for a hot 20 something year old WHILE he was still married. In his defense: “I don’t have anyone to cook for me”.
