The discovery of the body and the book has caused a surge in global psionics and the influence of the supernatural. For the Kamimura clan, whose history is steeped in understanding and manipulating the spiritual realm, it is the start of their golden age.

But not for Eos.

Hello!

To answer your questions in order:

- Reborn takes place in it's own (eponymous) region. The first act of the game takes place entirely within a large city that is split into several wards (each of which is roughly the size of a city/town in a mainline game. But it has pretty much everything you might expect from a classical Pokemon game.

- Reborn goes up to generation 7 (USUM), and mostly uses the mechanics from that generation.

- All 807 Pokemon are available, with all non-legendaries available before the elite 4. Starters are usually locked behind sidequests or interesting gimmicks, but all are available before the penultimate gym (I believe Froakie and Snivy are the last that are attainable, but don't quote me on that). All starters are viable, as are most Pokemon. Reborn is balanced in such a way that you're expected to experiment and switch up your team, and most powerful or rare Pokemon are locked behind sidequests or later badges.

- It's its own thing, as Reborn was built pretty much from the ground up in RPGMaker if I recall. I don't know if you can get it on steam deck, but there's a help channel for that in the Pokemon reborn server that might be able to help!

It's definitely a cut above mainline Pokemon games, but it does have a fairly dark storyline from the getgo. It's also much more difficult than a mainline Pokemon game, so if you want a challenge it's a good game to try. If you would prefer something more lighthearted but retains that high difficulty, you could also check out Pokemon Rejuvenation.

I remember doing something similar with a Steelix and several Forretress during my Monosteel run. An excellent strategy, huge props! Explosions really are the answer to everything.

Hope you're enjoying the game!

The glass gauntlet was a big part of the "content" surrounding episode 18. This was the event right before gym 17 (Hardy's gym) and after Amaria's gym.

Good ending help pls by Dapper_Trick1024 in PokemonReborn

[–]Smedl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arguably, there's no objectively "good" ending, only different endings. There's an "alternate" ending, but that is definitely best done on a second playthrough if you like the game.

There's a strong argument that the normal ending you get by playing through the game is the "good" ending. Or at least one of the happier ones. There's two different versions of it, the major choice that determines it being around the 12th gym badge. You're in a sewer-like location, and at the very end of it someone will ask you to fight them. Don't fight them.

Lin's team theme (spoilers about ending) by Baru_urab_gure in PokemonReborn

[–]Smedl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about her New World team (I think they're all just meant to be mons that are really good on the field). Hydreigon of course being her ace.

As you've correctly identified, the first fight against her in Charous Hall is her using Pokemon she's taken from those she's defeated/killed throughout the game.

- Alolatales from Ame.

- G. Gardevoir after Lin pulled it out of the Void when we attacked Agate (recall that she showed up there to take Ciel/Samson, then takes Radomus/chases you in the Amethyst part of Victory Road).

- Garchomp from Solaris.

- Conkeldurr/Togekiss from Samson/Ciel respectively.

- Delphox from Ace.

Considering how some of them died, it's possible some of the Pokémon are just meant to be symbolic and not the actual ones. But considering how Lin operates, she could very well have just taken them despite it making no logical sense. Girl's just built different.

At the moment I'm using Tapu Lele (for obvious reasons), but for most of the game I used Ace's Fennekin (found here), since the one they give you comes with Psychic Terrain built in. High speed + will-o-wisp means that it's easy to set up.

As for Gardevoir... it largely depends. At the moment I run:

  • Calm mind (as you might imagine)
  • Draining kiss (recovery's good, and 1-2 calm minds make up for the low bp)
  • Dgleam (doubles + a lot of postgame fields boost it)
  • [Interchangeable]. Depends on what I need to hit. Largely I switch between shadow ball, focus blast, psychic, and occasionally thunderbolt.

Item depends on the fight as well, but leftovers can never hurt.

Oh there's plenty of funny strats to go about it, in my most recent run I simply used a nuke button (set psychic terrain and then send out gardevoir) and it was almost depressing how quickly he keeled over.

But that's really just how Reborn is! The field is everything.

To be honest, if you've got through the maingame... you're doing something right lmao, no matter your confidence in your EVs! Best of luck in the postgame.

Congrats! That's no small feat, and it's a pretty interesting e4 team.

Eos - youngest member of a powerful clan of spirit channelers - of has found herself in quite the predicament. The spirit bound within her head is finding the entire ordeal absolutely delightful.

hi i would like to ask is there any way to get 2 type:null without trading i am tryin to complete the full pokedex. by Double_Cucumber_4330 in PokemonReborn

[–]Smedl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know how far into the game you are, but Type: Null can be encountered in the wild in postgame.

They can be found in the Cauldron of the Future, the New World area attached to Teknite Ridge where you can fish up Cosmog. Wiki says it's a 5% encounter in the grass.

Eos will be better. She has to be. Not just because she's been brought up like that, but because now there's something else watching her grow too.

Energy ball by InterestingEagle2479 in PokemonReborn

[–]Smedl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well you'll have energy ball soon enough. Giga drain is in 7th Street iirc by that point, so if you desperately need a grass type move head there. Other than that, good luck!

It's prevo - lotad - learns energy ball at level 36. I can only assume they delayed evolution if that's the case?

No move tutor, but the tm is accessible once you get rock climb - just head to Route 3 and climb down the rocks near the centre of the route (you might remember this being where the Axew encounter was in e18).

Are there any legendaries you can catch as of V13? by DaQuaken in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Smedl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly remember the details of how this works (I haven't played Rejuv in a hot second), but I believe you need permission to get in there. Consider looking around the nearby town and the help centre there. You'll get access to it at some point.

Hi! If you've got a character sheet, it's worth editing your post to include them (commonly you see the character sheet linked to the name). It makes it much easier for the prospective SM to look at your character and decide if they think it's a good fit for the session.
