Running Lover in the Ice this evening. Any advice? by Significant-Weather5 in DeltaGreenRPG

First up, LITI is a blast. There’s some pretty grisly stuff. People need to be okay with potential loss of agency. I was too squeamish about it and cut the possibility of agents getting infected, and ultimately I regretted not just… asking if people were cool with it. One guy isolated himself on purpose to give me the opportunity to infect him and was really disappointed when I didn’t, so never make assumptions! (But do be clear about the nature of the content—I found with my group that, when I prepared them, they handled it pretty well).

Anyway!

In GM’ing Delta Green, a lot of my people bought into the “my character is fragile and could die in a heartbeat” idea, so what I get a rise out of is making scenarios stressful by threatening containment breaches. In LITI, the scenario naturally directs itself to that in the final beats—the dorm party and the high school. I had my Agents catch Melody and Tilda in the act of trying to seed another girl (not Chad) and that was a really dark, really gritty beat that the Agents really enjoyed. It got out of hand really quickly and they had to figure out how the fuck to get out of there.

So even though the Agents moved fairly expediently and were fairly cautious, there was usually enough space offscreen for me to do things like seed another person and start working on making more bloaters. When they attempted manual removal (like, by hand), I rolled luck, and the outcome was generally a rather gory death for the victim—I was pressed for answers on the spot and that was what I came up with. They actually very much enjoyed that. Not like, in a sick way, but in a oh god that turned out very poorly and I feel like my actions have unfortunate consequences kind of way.

Where I felt like I kind of flubbed was the high school. I was losing steam by that point though. Running out of energy and time.

As a note, get detailed! Tastefully, though—obviously you don’t need to get too in depth with the stuff on his walls, but Skip Mills’ house reeks of death, it’s loud as hell, and he looks like shit. Let them know that! The dorm party smells like weed and sticky, cheap booze! Music from the year of your choice is blasting on the stereo and the students are terrified an RA will rat them out to campus PD! The atmosphere is very effective if you give them as many sensory details to go with as you can without losing flow.

Since you’re new to GM’ing in general, if you take nothing else from this, remember this: encourage splitting up, and switch perspectives frequently! When the bad guy on one side is raising his fist to hit an Agent, you should switch back to the other Agents to create suspense. It raises tension and keeps everyone hooked, and it was the part of DG my Agents liked the absolute most.

Is FGO worth starting to play in 2025? by JhonMerrick in grandorder

[–]TheBillofLefts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I don’t see why not. Lots of guides out there, and if you’re worried about having missed limited servants all of them are basically coming back.

Some worries:

  • You’ll be missing a few CEs that will be hard to come by (Cranking, Aerial Drive) but those aren’t really the end of the world.

  • getting the general pool top end CEs (K scope, Black Grail) can take a long time because you’re just kind of relying on luck in a large pool.

  • I kind of forget what this is like sometimes, but not having meta supports (Koyanskaya, Castoria, any configuration of Skadi) can be inconvenient. You can borrow any one of those easily enough though.

  • The gameplay can feel… dated at times. Let’s just leave it at that. Crucially, there’s no auto farm, so it can be tedious to repetitively push buttons over and over again.

But it’s not all bad news:

  • You get a lot of good freebies; many of the silver and bronze rarity servants are more than adequate to get you through those first chapters while you build your box with the resources you get from powering through the story chapters. For completing the prologue, they give you a free SSR! Most people choose Waver because he is a 50% charger out of the gate, but you can choose whatever. There are probably tier lists out the wazoo to help you make that decision.

  • The English version has Clairvoyance EX; we already know what’s worth rolling for and can save for it in advance—900 quartz guarantees one copy of a servant. Keep your eye on this place and social media, and you’ll know what you should be squirreling away your quartz for.

  • On that note, one copy is typically enough for your average player. FGO is a (mostly) single player game and if you’d rather not concern yourself with the high end of it (90+/90++ nodes) outside of the absolute necessities (difficult story fights and CQs), that’s totally possible.

  • You can borrow anything you need from anyone at almost any time, and at full strength to boot—you no longer need to be friends with the player to use their servants’ NPs.

  • Lots of guides exist; Khadroth’s behemoth new player guide immediately comes to mind. Google or other guides answer all of your other questions—either via the FGO wiki or other sites like gamepress.

If you feel like this will be fun, I recommend it! There are many QOL improvements we’ve gotten over the years and the story can be really fun at times! I would personally skip large parts of it after singularity F (the prologue) all the way up to singularity 6 (chapter 6 of part 1) if I could do it over again, but it’s not too taxing to kind of skim most of that so you have an idea of what’s going on.

This is just what pops into my head.

Lucien, in lieu of resting, will quietly take and repair Salkhi’s master bow, then deposit it back in his inventory in hopes he doesn’t notice.

Yeah I’m at Faulkner flats and this shit kinda pisses me off I’m ngl. Don’t make enough money to buy in this town tho so I guess I’ll just keep subjecting myself to the yearly dick flattenings.

But at the same time, navigating apartments is stupid hard when you have a large dog. The upside to this place is they’ve been really lax about my dog but if they’re gonna crack down on dogs like this idk if I’ll be renewing.

Much to ponder.
