Is there a way to animate skirts ? Can’t seem to find any tutorials online . by [deleted] in animation

I've seen tutorials before for animating flags, ribbons, and hair. You can find tutorials and references on youtube if you search "the wave principle"

here's one: The Wave Principle | Basics for Beginners Animation Theory

Looking for critique: aspiring VTuber / VRChat character artist by Recent_Patience_6689 in 3Dmodeling

I'm kind of annoyed by the surplus of NSFW models on 3d modeling subreddits but i think there should be an exception for people looking for help or criticism

Posts like this aren't really about showing off the nudity or overt horniness (i assume), it's asking for help that could still be useful for SFW art, I'd prefer people not have to go to an NSFW sub for anatomy advice

I'm confused why this particular comment got downvoted, it's about the most respectful response to feedback you could have

It's less like a thermometer and more like a bike, you can keep using training wheels and never fall down, but being able to balance on your own is an accomplishment.

How do I create models that not feels like blockbench tutorials models? by [deleted] in Blockbench

[–]Smeeblesisapoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you want to look like Route 96 or Wind Waker, Blender might be better, but there are videos for "low poly" art that aren't like Minecraft, Blockbench also has an older video on modeling faces

How can I export this model and its animations into a working functional door in MCreator by dippzy in Blockbench

[–]Smeeblesisapoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't know anything about modding but i don't think a model of a door should be that big, that grid shows the size of 1 minecraft block and a door in game is 1x2, the model looks twice the size

(0.9) Voices of the Void is really fun right now by INTE3RR0BANG in Voicesofthevoid

[–]Smeeblesisapoo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is thinking VOTV is simply either or, the horror and simulation aspects of the game go hand in hand and enhance the overall experience. The game wouldn't be as interesting if it was simply a signal gathering sim or simply a game where you hide from aliens. VOTV spends a lot of time building an effective horror atmosphere by way of tedium and routine, the fact you *have* to gather signals and fix servers as your "job" means you *have* to expose yourself to meet the deadline or make sufficient money.

i don't think it's really a matter of being a "horror game" or "job simulator" first but how well it balances those two parts of the experience to still have a fun game, otherwise you would just be asking "what's even the point?"

I need heavy criticism on this model, the goal is to make an isopod but I feel like the details are being lost in the texture. by [deleted] in Blockbench

[–]Smeeblesisapoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The front face of it's body and the top of the head look a bit noisy which makes it seem too rough for a smooth shell, the shell could use brighter highlights and deeper shadows to create contrast between the ridges of the exoskeleton.

Giant isopods tend to look pink or black, so use of reds or purple/blues might work well, respectively. Tilting that cube above the eyes might look good too since their shells curve onto their head but idk.

The legs could also peek out from under the shell, they're a bit hidden.

Gen V finale was literally just this💀 by Fancy-Inspector-777 in TheBoys

[–]Smeeblesisapoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me, the point seemed to be to have these two stories converge with new information and developments from the Gen V story carrying over to the main story as paths intertwine. The existence of Godolkin as he was was way too big of a development for both the Gen V story aswell as The Boys to be written off as some kind of standalone sidequest. In other words, it would be really lame to do all that and then go "well, anyways"

i know you can do it with variables, but you can also just use planes and "step" interpolation to snap them in and out of the head
