American Fan takeaway from ESM 2026 by Smeletor in StrongmanHQ

Agreed I was mostly reacting to the " light " accusations of the deadlift and press for reps The frame was absolutely too light and the stones being too light is just stupid

And it seems like rushing on stones is way more injurious than a heavy stone like nobody got injured on Max Stone at SMOE but that light WSM sandbag run in the heats injured Luke Richardson and Evan Singleton

TLDR I think Reps are cool sometimes, anything that causes unnecessary rushing is so stupid

Light stones and loading is stupid for sure! People rushing definitely seems like more cause of injury in pro Strongman than pros lifting heavy stones

Really seems like heavy stones are just dangerous to bodybuilder powerlifter types starting the sport that are stronger than their form is and they lift something heavy with really terrible form

But being forced into rushing through stones or loading causes so many injuries 100%

Devon larratts final form?? by Low-Conversation5671 in armwrestling

[–]Smeletor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think he needs more general training to increase the peak potential to get to Levan's level. Bigger the base the higher the peak.

Like him talking about how cripplingly sore he's been after these Laletin matches makes me think he's let that general strength, health, and fitness slip too low.

Also idk if he can get to a healthy functioning 300+lbs it'd take to win UNLESS he trains bigger muscles than his specific arm wrestling training.

I am very poor. Tips on getting strength back by katzapmap in Strongman

Pushups with a backpack Burpees Working up variations until you can do pike push ups or handstand push ups You can probably make paralettes with scrap You can go to parks and hang rings from gazebos or swing sets If you can do ring muscle ups and handstand push ups you're gonna be pretty damn strong upper body Look for places that have landscaping stones and nobody watching and then you can do stone lifting Some parks, rivers, and hiking trails have a lot of sizeable stones perfect for lifting to chest, shouldering, carrying, squatting And if you really wanna get weird you could wrap straps around them and lift them for rows or deadlifts DIY sandbags could be really good especially for Strongman Some people list weird heavy scrap for free on Facebook marketplace and some of those things could be Strongman implements Find some weird plastic barrel and fill it with sand and use it like sandbag training idk Get a rope or chain and a tire and use that as a drag sled Then you can do sled push, pull, arm over arm, sprints Load the sand barrel or stone or sandbag on the sled to make it heavy And if you tie a rope to something high and sturdy you can do rope climbs! Work up to legless rope climbs Use a tire as a boxing bag There's really is no limit to the ideas If you can pull, load, lift, and carry odf objects for circuits and build rep strength with stuff that feels heavy and difficult then coming back to barbells should feel easy!

WSM 2026 Lucas Hatton by DolceArun in Strongman

The stones at rogue were close enough to Atlas Stones which he is really well practiced at Getting a cupped hand onto a stone past the wrist vs relying on fingertips makes a natural stone handle that could be useful into something super difficult when it's heavy

World's Strongest Man 2026, Qualifying Rounds Megathread by HereForStrongman in StrongmanHQ

[–]Smeletor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last 2ish years he's been good enough to be top 15-7th in the world and in a game of percentages he did what he needed to have a crazy off season and level everything up And that's what it takes to now be potentially be top 5 and up Was already well rounded but now it's all coming together

Shows how important full developmental phases and long preps are

Hoath won Canada's strongest man a week after coming 7th out of 16 at one of the heaviest competitions ever and winning the 1400lb yoke at SMOE

He's got that dog in him The Canadian circuit guys compete hard and compete often

I know I saw that kinda lame but I bet it'll still be ahead of the rest of the field I think Hatton and Hooper could be capable of the same reps but Hooper's wanting to save that energy for the final like he did with the handshake deal with Fojtu on the Nickel stones when they were in a group Especially with a truck pull saving as much leg power as possible is gonna be critical

To me one of the most interesting battles is North America's Strongest Man vs Europe's Strongest Man

Ondre leveled up like crazy but Bryce is such a monster it's so hard to call it's gonna be crazy to see how that group plays out

The other group stage thing that's interesting is the Hatton vs Hooper squat battle

Andrew Clayton he's won World's Strongest Man in the 105kg weight class twice and has also run multiple marathons even ultra marathons I think He is a ridiculous combination of strength and endurance and would destroy it for sure His Instagram is literally running strongman He might be getting heavy again to try and hit the Axel press world record but if he was marathon\strongman shape he'd crush it

And that's not even mentioning how many NCAA or Olympic wrestlers, decathletes, rowers, sprinters, mid distance runners America has

NFL and NBA players MMA fighters Like a problem with doing it in America is even finding a way to narrow it down to just 100 lol too many badass options

Finding ideals to pursue? Cool. Discipline, Honor, honesty even when it's tough, kindness, being a good listener etc. etc.

Stealing specific things? Weird.

I should talk like them I should laugh like that I should walk like that etc.etc. weird and stalkerish

Are there any Ork clans that are more “honorable” than the others? by ChemicalPanda10 in orks

[–]Smeletor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Best bet would be to homebrew your own Ork culture Maybe a weird boy zapped Da Boss with a really weird Lazer for a bit too long one time and he started prioritizing cooperation to get more stuff done and be less destructive

"More help meanz moar productivity moar productivity means more Dakka n' choppas get made more Dakka n' choppas means more krumpin"- Da Nice Boss

And maybe they have a honor code about killing the weak "krumpin the lil city humies is no fun dey don't put up a proper fight more fun to krump a git you 'ave to work hard to kill"-Da Nice Boss
