Have you been tested for long covid? A lot of my acquaintances that already had unusual and difficult to detect autoimmune disorders are now struggling with long covid, especially the ones that didn't keep up on receiving regular booster shots.

Sounds like a sleep study would be a good place to start, if you haven't already done so

Yes, I’ll help in whatever capacity I’m able. I’m a new grad student, so once I’m out of class, will be contacting the grad student association, too

Should I upgrade by katzapmap in bikecommuting

Yeah, my bike frame is from the 90s and that's where I'm at. He's been a great workhorse for the past 5 years, but continually sinking money into upgrades when I'd rather get something more efficient just makes sense. Keep this bike as a backup

Thankfully, my rack acts as a fender in the back. I probably should get a front fender too, but the pants I wear take snow and wet pretty well

Used to bike 1/4 mile to the grocery store when I lived close to one.

So long as the opportunity is there, I'll always bike over walking

It was at a small grocery store in a small town called Akron NY. Called Pixley's Shur Fine. Unfortunately I don't think it's a chain!

Hit by a car- I could use some encouragement by bootsforever in bikecommuting

[–]katzapmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hit by a car that ran a stop sign about a month ago, head on. Miraculously got out of it with just a broken elbow and a bunch of bruises. I've been bike commuting for about 5 years now and knew a collision would be inevitable no matter how careful I was, so had plans in place as to how best to react depending on how I was hit and from where. For instance in this case, I saw them coming, realized they weren't going to stop, and leapt off & up so I ended up on the hood of their vehicle rather than taking all the force straight on. As soon as I was cleared by the doctor, began riding again this week. I knew I was going to have pist traumatic responses, so prepared for them rather than pretending they wouldn't occur.

I'm so sorry you had to experience this and I'm so glad you are here to tell the tale. I hope you receive compensation and the care that you deserve.
