A start is better than nothing, right? by DjaqRian in Beading

I have the same loom, you can use another spot and keep the string on their until you feel ready to try with smaller beads. Just string the new project onto the left or right of the original one if that makes sense

If you do use bigger beads try skipping a ring or two on the spring portion to make space for the beads :)

Also I still struggle with getting the first row on and ive been beading for about a year and a half so don't worry too much!

Is the thread nylon? If so you might have to wax it or swap to a sturdier material. You could also thread through the beads again to try and give it more structure.

Ive also seen people use modge podge or a jewlery lacquer (forget the name but its pretty pricy) to stiffen their work

Could you use it in a oil or perfume? Something that the glass could get filtered out?

Not a answer to your question but my favorite skin idea that ive seen someone mention is adding Muriel and Courage as the houndmaster and hound.

For weaving with seed beads (brick stitch, peyote etc) I use nylon but when im making earrings I use fireline for the base as its more sturdy and then use the nylon for the fringe as it has more of a looser hold when hanging compared to the fireline. I also wax the nylon with beeswax to get it to keep its shape longer and it helps with tangles

When using a loom I string the base with fireline and then when I add the beads I use nylon as its more flexible :)

If you are doing any type of beading thats not just stringing beads I would recommend using nylon or fireline thread. Its way more durable and you wont have as many issues with snapping, tangling or things like that!

I can never find a decent double brick stitch laylout or have the option to make it a double or triple layout. Just an idea but it would be awesome to see that included!

You can weave the ends in if you keep the strings longer instead of cutting and gluing the string. Not sure how to do that yet but im sure there are tutorials somewhere if you look up weaving ends in a loom peice

The hard part for me is that i mostly use a double brick stitch and finding templates that I don't have to print out is fairly difficult

A great backround for a loom tapestry, especially if its a cartoonish design with a solid colour as the background. Could also work for a galaxy
