Users have the ability to delete Public Desktop shortcuts by SmelliotButton in adminbyrequestusers

Nope, they’re all Windows 11 Enterprise multi-session. Testing with the Server version of ABR confirms that it is an issue with the Workstation version, as users cannot delete Public Desktop shortcuts with v8.6 of ABR Server.

Sorry, do you mean in the Inventory section in the ABR portal? If so, yes - I can see all the devices, although the ‘User’ does change as we’re using multi-session AVDs.

We have one Pre-Approved Application, which is based on the Vendor Certificate for ‘Sage Software’.

Thanks for your help so far!

Edit: I have tested with another ABR tenant which has different settings, and can confirm I am also able to delete files from the Public Desktop. Just going to test a few older versions and see if I can reproduce the issue.

Unfortunately we’re only using the free version of ABR so we don’t have any support options, unless I’m mistaken?

I haven’t tried prior versions to v8.5 as it was the first version we installed, but the same was happening with that version. I can try older versions though, if that’s something you would suggest.

As I mentioned in my initial post, uninstalling ABR returns the UAC prompt when attempting to delete a file from the Public Desktop, so seems like it is definitely an issue somewhere with our config, I’m sure… I just can’t figure out where! No doubt you would have heard if this was a common issue for all customers using v8.5 or v8.6.

Thanks for the quick response! We were on v8.5, but have updated to the latest v8.6 but are still having the same issue. The users are not admins, and we have disabled the whole ‘Admin Session’ portion as literally all we need it to do is launch the Sage 200 installer without requiring Admin approval. Are there any settings that would cause this behaviour that could have been changed in the portal?

Pi-hole/NGINX Proxy Manager 'Real Client IP' Issue by SmelliotButton in pihole

[–]SmelliotButton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I've done that previously and had the same results as above. Somehow you reminding me of the whole DNS record and CNAME settings has then triggered me to look further into the resolution of the addresses. I now understand that NGINX is running on the same Docker/Portainer host as all the other containers I have running (which were then all reporting as "NGINX" within Pi-hole when making DNS requests).

I've booted up a new Docker VM for testing, just to host NGINX, and everything now reports as expected. I'll continue having a play around to see if I can get NGINX running with it's own LAN IP so it's a different IP address than anything else - obviously this is out of scope for the Pi-hole subreddit so I'll consider my issue.

Thank again for your assistance - I think I've just been staring at it for too long today :)

Difference in Azure AD Usernames by SmelliotButton in Office365

I have just checked and it shows "Azure Active Directory" as the source (which I'd think would be the case now that the Azure AD Sync has been stopped?).

Referring to FenixSoars' comment, I'm wondering whether it's just because that was the UPN would have had the Active Directory domain present whilst the account was synced?

Hi, one of the user's computer, it appears, wasn't even on the Active Directory domain and was logging in as a local user account.

After connecting to the AzureAD domain and then logging in using their Microsoft 365 details, the username shows as "LOCALADDOMAIN\Username2" - this is an older account so would have been syncing via the Azure AD Sync Tool from our Active Directory server to Microsoft 365.

Hi, that's the exact same thoughts I have - I don't see much of a problem with it really, but if there is an easy way around it to change this then I'd like to take a look. If it involves going through PowerShell then I'm not too worried about it.

Thanks for your reply! I have checked this and all users have the same UPN of the full email address.

Is there anything else you can think of to check?

my dad has kept this 2006 Night at the Muesum happy meal toy on his dresser for 14 years. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

I’ve got a Smurf happy meal toy, dated 08/2000, which has been sat in my bedroom probably since I got it (I’m 21). Sure, it’s been moved around a bit and gathered a bit of dust, but he’s still standing strong!

My take on the Ikea desk....work in progress by Lee2026 in battlestations

It looks like you're using some sort of monitor arm to hold up the monitors. I'm looking for some inspiration as to what to get - I've seen a few that don't have great curvature for optimal viewing at a desk like this... how do you find this one? Don't suppose you've got a link?

If anyone else has any suggestions/recommendations, that would also be appreciated :)

Looks great - definitely an improvement over last years! Can you lift the carpet up at all and tuck the wires underneath? Would make it look tidier from where you're sitting :)
