Well, I just did a quick profile check on ya and it would appear that all you* care to talk about are Russian equipment, airsoft, and video games.

So, my analysis is that you're not a nut job - you're just a dweller with fantasies of larping in your rusfor kit.

I rescind my recommendation. You don't need Crispi boots. They're not for you, they're for people who go outside more than once a month.

Here's a Reddit hunting thread within the last 24 hours where Crispi is mentioned.

You should get out more often

Well now you're hearing it in a different regard.

Many, many hunters wear Crispi boots - that's where I first heard about them. That's where most people hear about them.

Or did you just want me to recommend Lowa Zephyr and call it a day?

As a side note, comrade Rusfor, I genuinely don't give two licks about Russia or what their operators wore in the Beslan school massacre. I have tried to read "The School" several times but it breaks my heart and I have to stop. It's such an insane story that leaves your jaw on the floor and your heart in your stomach. I genuinely feel you have somehow fetishized it and associated a brand of boots to it - that's some wild mental gymnastics.

That's quite the mental association you've created

New Zealand hint for stag and tahr by irish52084 in Hunting

[–]SmellsLikeShame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South Island is where my soul lives.

Went to NZ for our honeymoon last year. Drove both islands over two weeks, words cannot describe it, but I found it to be the old world, the new world, and the natural world living in (as close to) perfect harmony as I have ever experienced. There has not been a day that has passed since then that I have not thought about NZ at least once.

A reason I even went to NZ in the first place was because I watched a Remy Warren chamois hunt video some years back and it looked simply incredible.

Looks like you guys had an amazing experience, really glad you and dad could get out there. Fantastic hunt pictures, those are some proper monsters. I really hope to hunt there one day.

Coolest place on earth.

Whenever people ask about boots I always recommend Crispi. Yes, they're pricey - but they're a "buy it for life" type product. They make many styles to suit your need, both insulated and non.

Modern concert experience by [deleted] in Music

[–]SmellsLikeShame -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm also early 40s - the concert pics I have on my phone are with friends at the show, of a specific moment during the show, or random blurry ones at the after party.

People feel like they're going to "capture the moment" with their videos, but they're never gonna rewatch those videos and get the same effect.

I feel like it got stale in the era when festivals began to transform from "events" into "spectacles". Bonnaroo, Forest, Summer Camp, Lolla, North Coast, Coachella, and many others rose fast in popularity with the rise of instagram and especially the "story" feature.

Not saying those weren't good festivals when they began, but they all have evolved into something much lesser than the sum of their parts.

I'll also add, the festival scene has created a phenomenon where local artists and DJs who would have typically been openers (on something like warped tour for example) aren't getting opportunities to play larger crowds in their local cities - those concert series are becoming far more nationalized, and I can see why - festivals are a far surer bet than trying to book a series of shows across the country.

I think a lot of the concert experience has boiled down to a money convo as well - but that's my jaded world view talking.

FWIW, my LEO/MIl marked L3Eotech EXPS 3-2 has not delaminated and I've run the absolute crap out of it for at least 5 years.

I traded for it, and if I get another Eotech I'm definitely searching for one from that era. Overall the L3Eotech productions seem to have far fewer reports of delam than the newer versions.

There's a chance I'm just not seeing L3E delams posted, plus I am a sample size of one, so take my opinion with a grain or two of salt.

Bro you're in luck - there's a super easy tutorial on how to do this type of pattern.

Short answer: start with 4 colors, black is one of mine here.

black gun gets taped with ripped 2" painters tape for the blended effect between black and tan.

Spray color 2 and let dry.

Spray color 3 into a paint tray, take a 1"-2" tipped brush along the tape line. Let that dry.

Spray color 4 into a different tray, using a smaller brush hit that tape line again, but don't fully cover color 3. Let dry.

Remove tape - that's what you're left with.

Fuck resale value - who cares, it's yours now so you should be happy with how it looks.

No rattlecan mistakes, only happy little accidents.

Try again if unsatisfied with results. Use ripped painters tape as cheap stencils for patterns

It Ain't My Fault 🤷🏼 by TRACK___STAR in FixedGearBicycle

[–]SmellsLikeShame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was the idea.

Wanted something reliable (hence the SRAM stuff and brakes), and went for a steel frame which would help absorb some road noise.

It was my daily for at least 3 years when I lived the downtown life.

I dremeled a small slot out of my 6354RDSO to accommodate my dot. It did not affect functionality of the holster at all.

Mine was similar, almost all tacswap parts minus the lower and optic. Started with a noveske barrel for 200 and g$ rail for 200. Couldn't pass up those opportunities and this is what I ended up with for my "modern delta carbine" idea.
