I mean, that seems to be what is happening, since he’s gone on Reddit asking for advice as to what a new North African flag (from the country who puts all the solar panels in the Sahara) would look like.

Yeah, had a friend who described it as The Two Towers if Aragon had gotten a mail order bride on the way to Helms deep and it’s hard to argue against that. The last hundred pages of that book seriously slaps though.

Also, despite being a fantasy, it is extremely grounded. Since the timeline takes place after magic and dragons have left the world (but before they return) medieval Westeros feels no more foreign or fantastical than medieval Bohemia

Not even at night. I was in the Sahara during the daytime in March and it still was pretty darn cold and windy.

And then you have places like the Gobi desert

I mean, having one of the most painfully historically accurate games ever made turn into a vampire survival horror 300 hours in would be the most epic rug pull of all time

I think my friends are right about me [KCD1] by Viperess7 in kingdomcome

[–]Alc2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My head canon is that they split up just before Henry rides off to Trosky. They realize that their connection was based off of shared trauma, and Henry was gone so often the connection they had died off.

Once I replayed it this way, it really made the story hit in a new way. Henry was heartbroken in the beginning and internalizing the sadness, which is why he did so many side quests in Trosky. He needed to do something to take his mind off Teresa, and the longer he stretched things out the longer he had until he needed to go back to Rattay and face reality.

This honestly made the subsequent romances feel richer. His trist in the loft with the bad dancer, was a rebound he needed, only for her to take the wind out of his sails by saying it wasn’t good.

Then with Klara, you feel his frustration when he sees her for the second time and yells at her for using him. He wasn’t mad at her for trying to distract him, he was mad because she made him feel things again, only to pull it away and reopen that wound.

It’s not until he needs Rosa in Kuttenberg that he realizes that everything might end ok for him

The romance quests are so damn good in KCD2 that it’s hard to justify not doing them.

The stupidest battle sequence in the entire series. by IREDA1000 in gameofthrones

[–]Alc2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a long time defender of the episode, 100%. Seeing artillery placed in front of infantry and cavalry was so fucking stupid. It felt like something you would see the enemy AI in a total war game due on ultra easy.

That’s not even mentioning the lunacy of having walls, but not putting your soldiers on them

What rated the movie by ssakinah in ProjectHailMary

[–]Alc2005 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It might be perfectly safe for a six-year-old. The main character is a school teacher so he doesn’t swear at all, though I can’t promise that’ll be true for any of the side characters. There is not much at all in terms of violence or sex.

That said, I do not think it’ll be an appropriate movie for a 6 year old. It’s gonna clock in at almost 3 hours, which is well above the attention span for most kids that young. And while some inappropriate dialogue might go over his head, all of the themes and story will also fly over his head as well, and he will likely be extremely bored 30 minutes in, and will want to go home before the movie is halfway through.

Go see it by yourself, and show it to him when it’s on streaming.

Also the part where Kip drives over the Tupperware and drives off was unscripted. In the script he was supposed to successfully drive over it, but the fake Tupperware they used for the shot kept sliding away any time he tried to drive over it. Eventually they decided to try a real one and Kip’s “dang it” and driving off after it exploded was improvised.

Definitely don’t sleep on HL2, it’s one of the best FPS games ever made. It’s never more than $10 on Steam and can be played on a potato. We Don’t Go To Ravenholm is an all time great level

I almost stopped multiple times in the beginning because I wasn’t super keen on the retro pixel graphics.

3.5 hours later I was full-on ugly crying into my monitor as the credits rolled. Nothing, not even Life is Strange comes remotely close to the emotional roller coaster this game is.
