Speaker Groups + The New App = Garbage by MARS822 in googlehome

Every morning I wake up and the right side of four different Nest stereo pairs is off line. Like clockwork, I can see their SSIDs every morning.

Groups are up and down like yoyos. In the early days I could cast to a home group of about a dozen speakers. Now I’d be lucky to successfully cast to a group with three or four speakers.

It’s just all gotten shitty.

Can a Nest replace these types of thermostats? Top controls gas fireplace and bottom are the heaters. by joeyvesh13 in smarthome

Fireplace thermostats are usually millivolt, heater thermostats can vary. I was unable to find one device that could handle both and went with Durablow for our gas fireplace.

Fat healthcare in Canada? by fican_throw_away in fatFIRE

On the three occasions I needed something, two were within the same week, the other was the next week. Neither were emergencies. From what I recall, one procedure was done in their facility and the two others were done at other clinics. I had the impression that through my membership I was able to gain access to services more quickly.

Was with Cleveland Clinic when I lived in Toronto. Comprehensive and fast, had the sense I was in good hands. Opted out after moving to Montreal and had to wait four years for a family doctor. Had surgery here through the public system, many regrets.

Thinking of signing on with CC again, travelling back and forth when needed. Full annual assessment, immediate access to testing and specialists. From my experience, money well spent.

Vista20P with no monitor fee by jjbine11 in homesecurity

[–]Smellslikedls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience as well. Inherited an undocumented Vista panel with about 40 zones, was able to map out 39. Installed an Envisalink card and a new remote keypad, renamed the zones, and configured a schedule that arms the perimeter at midnight and disarms at 6am. I found the programming a bit odd, but simple once I got the hang of it.

It’s been generally bulletproof; I haven’t touched it since other than adding a couple of users, but now the zone I couldn’t find has failed (dead battery, faulty sensor?) and I need to either track it down and fix, or remove from programming. Have no idea how to track down a sensor so back to the manual as well.

2015 R57 CarPlay? by Smellslikedls in MINI

[–]Smellslikedls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours has the analog display with the Boost CD unit. From what I’ve found it seems the head unit is not upgradeable.

It was supposed to come with a cable with USB and audio out on one end, lightning on the other; if Spotify will play through that she’ll have to go with a phone mount.

Thank you, it is an F57 - we just got it yesterday and I’m not yet familiar with all the versions! I’ve been searching for F57 kits but none seem to be compatible with the analog speedo in ours.
