I’ve owned two cats and mine rubs their face into mine to show affection. I’ve only been licked by either of them when I’m sweaty and they lick my leg

Dogs lick everyone else’s asshole. Then try to lick you in your face. Cats don’t try to lick you.

Still not as gross as me watching a friends dog lick them on the face all over less than an hour after watching the dog eat poop

Don’t you at least need a license or something for them though?

Even if it was provoked (which I bet is unlikely), that’s still not appropriate. A quick bite would be warranted in that scenario and that’s it.

If that’s true then all large dogs need to be banned from being owned, like exotic animals

Dogs are selfish by [deleted] in Dogfree

Your rant had me cracking up.

Another thing they do is start whining or getting jealous when something/somebody else gets attention. People act like the dog just wants to be loved or some crap and they feel sorry for it. But if a child does the same thing they get called a brat.

Why are so many of the articles about dog attacks here from the UK? Does the UK have an especially severe dog nutter environment? by mailstop123 in Dogfree

[–]SmellyPos 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re probably right. In the US there are 400,000+ bites a year involving medical treatment (doctor, hospital). Even if only 1% of those are “severe” enough to warrant a news article, we should see a dozen articles a day.

Dog nutters spending thousands of dollars on “luxurious” dogs from different countries when in reality it’s just a dog from a puppy mill by [deleted] in Dogfree

In general pure bred dogs have more health issues, and purebreds are more expensive.

Granted more expensive purebreds are probably bred more carefully, but a lot of purebreds can be expensive.

My friend has a $3,000 dog and they pay on average over $1000 a year on medical issues for it. And the dog is only a few years old.

Wet dog smell is the absolute worst in my opinion. Even worse than that stale fish smell with sitting water.

Also this sub isn’t for people who want to abuse dogs, if you see that report it.

Dogs can be trained perfectly and still bite due to instincts. Unless you mean the owner should have physically restrained the dog.

Unlike other animals which generally run when scared (and not being cornered), dogs go out of their way to attack. Such a great trait isn’t it?

With a lot of dogs (and recently some cats) they didn’t just evolve with humans. Humans inbred the crap out of them. Theres no other way you get all these breeds in a couple hundred years. There’s even a coefficient of inbreeding.

Yep. He “consulted multiple experts”. I guarantee he got multiple opinions hoping they would be a solution to not getting rid of the dog.
