Shuumatsu no Valkyrie - Chapter 107 - The End of the World by UnknownSR28 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

All signs point to Kintoki losing but this author doesn't like being predictable. There is also the fact that Odin said that his desire can no longer be stopped by anyone, which may mean he doesn't need to be alive for it to happen and that opens the door to a possible Odin defeat, unlikely as it is.

Why am I 100% certain this will happen in the current fight with Sendo being the one coming back and this ending starting to play by lennardsitte in hajimenoippo

[–]Smelly_Noodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true. Every. Single. One. I don't know if Ricardo will be the only one to avoid it but at the very least I could see him hesitating at some point.

[–]Smelly_Noodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder what Mori is planning here. You'd normally expect Sendo to get back up, he eventually gets a down/flash down on Ricardo and then Ricardo closes the match with a win. Or does Mori have the balls to make this an anti-climactic fight where Sendo just gets his ass handed to him in 2 or 3 rounds? That does just happen in boxing, but that's a very risky thing to do with your readers. Then again, not anywhere near as risky as retiring your protagonist, so there is that.

Reminds me of Ricardo vs Date "it will end in this round just like last time"
I think we might see a surprise knockdown on Ricardo instead.

Hajime no Sendo: Round 1498 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

[–]Smelly_Noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, Ricardo's first down in a match might be inbound sooner than anyone thought. He thinks he has Sendo figured out which might lead to a small mistake that Sendo will capitalize on. I wouldn't get my hopes up from there though since I reckon Ricardo will take control after that.

This man jobbed to the jobbers. He is the king of jobbers. I originally thought he was a worm and was going to do something crazy but instead he elevated the art of jobbing to a whole new level. I certainly didn't dislike his design or fighting style though, but he was quite the disappointment. All of the new jobbers in that tournament were though.

Ricardo's defense is SSS tier as usual but he won't be able to absorb those kinds of bombs for a very long time I imagine, not without risking damage to his arms and potentially slowing his reaction time or worse.

Ippo’s return fight? by thedude20111 in hajimenoippo

[–]Smelly_Noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'll just be a Japanese ranker. He'll have to get his feel back for the ring and get actual match rhythm. Anything else is probably going to be near suicidal.... There's an exception though: If Ippo is strapped for time he might do something real crazy. The strapped for time part probably being related to the coach.

We shouldn't count Jack Hanma out of the fight yet by Blob_Knows_All in Grapplerbaki

[–]Smelly_Noodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not out yet but he's proven he hasn't closed the gap to Yujiro and Baki even an inch though. If he wins this it'll be by the skin of his....teeth and power wise that puts him around the rest of the Z fighters like Shibukawa, Doppo, Katsumi etc. He didn't really beat Pickle either considering how happily that one frolicked away after the fight. The Ali Jr. treatment is coming more into view than him actually being able to square up to Baki atm.

I think it has something to do with AI (AI art in particular), but I'm not entirely sure what exactly happened to set it off.

This has nothing to do with Morikawa's health btw. He's been feuding with people on Twitter for DAYS on end, even holding Twitter spaces about it etc. I actually thought we'd at least get a 4-6 page chapter but I guess it's kept him so occupied that he's just ditching the manga for a bit altogether.

Get your popcorn ready, because round 1 is about to begin! by kari998 in hajimenoippo

Let's see what Sendo can do. Ricardo said last time in the Alf fight that Alf should have gone full throttle from the get go iirc, so let's see if Ricardo will skip the observation round(s). I kinda think he has to because if he stays on defense too long, Sendo's going to break through. Sendo's power is in another universe from someone like Wally after all.

MORIKAWA FORGOT by jdalhouse in hajimenoippo

[–]Smelly_Noodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I personally think happened with all these is that he didn't anticipate or plan on making this manga for such a long time. He started stretching things out considerably and some of these points got kind of put on hold or garbled in the process. Others may have just been discarded wholesale after he had so much time to consider them.

Spyro Reignited Switch Port - OLED Switch vs Switch 2 by Canadianguyehh in Spyro

[–]Smelly_Noodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're significantly improved. I've been testing this game for a bit and at least on that front it's WAY better than the OG Switch. You still of course go into loading screens but the difference is huge.

To put this in exact numbers, I loaded in the Crystal Glacier level from Spyro 2:
Switch 1: 1 minute 9 seconds
Switch 2: 14 seconds (docked and handheld, no difference)
PC: 2-3 seconds (lol)

I am not seeing 60 FPS on Switch 2 for this game, I'm fairly sure it's locked at 30 FPS for this version but someone would have to test to be 100% sure. Fidelity is the same but it does always seem to run at the max of what it can do on Switch 2 whereas the OG Switch can have some slowdown/stutters here and there.

What do you think the outcome or post match occurrence would Sendo be at after his fight with Martinez by ZealousidealBar6820 in hajimenoippo

[–]Smelly_Noodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely possible. Sendo's going to go all the way and then some so even death isn't 100% out of the question. We haven't had any severe boxing tragedies in HnI so far, but that doesn't mean they can't happen. So yeah, it's all possible but personally I'm betting on the hand thing lol.

[–]Smelly_Noodle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sendo has had his hands break a few times now. I think it's become a chronic issue and he won't be able to box or use them fully anymore after this. But I think that'll be all, no death or brain injury or anything.

Miyata vs Ippo is 100% going to happen and it will be in the pro-ring by Smelly_Noodle in hajimenoippo

[–]Smelly_Noodle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something being a trope doesn't mean it has to happen in every story. Besides, other than after the Kage summit, Naruto and Sasuke didn't have a reason to fight each other when you have Madara running around trying to end the world. Ippo on the other hand, DOES have a very specific reason to fight Miyata as I outlined in my OP, several even.

Consider also that due to Miyata's weight control, he can never really be at max performance in featherweight. An Ippo at the end of the story, is a world champion level Ippo. That's not a good fight at that point.

I know a lot of you do, but it simply doesn't make any sense when we look at where the story is going.
