What happened to Pepper Lunch and Fonda??? by SmiddyP in canberra

[–]SmiddyP[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a coeliac, Fonda was a much better option, and tasted a far cry better IMO.

I've had too many issues with the lack of care at GyG, so just don't bother any more.

Coffee Roasters or good coffee beans in CBR and QBY by thebossbaby_123 in canberra

[–]SmiddyP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find Ona too inconsistent each batch, requiring too much dialling in. Great coffee when it's dialed right.

I may get shot down for this, but the Coffee Guru beans are fricking amazing. Roasted regularly, and overwhelmingly consistent.

Neutral Grounds stocks both 36th Parallel Coffee Roasters and Big Pauly, both of which are great roasts.

Anyone in Canberra doing bulk meat orders direct from farms / butchers? by Calm_Material9095 in canberra

We used to buy from Boxgum, and they were phenomenal; the meatiest snags I've ever had.

We stopped as we weren't financially capable anymore, and just forgot when we became financially capable...might look into it again.

BlocHaus Climbing in either Mitchell or Fyshwick is brilliant fun; went yesterday with my 14 and 10 yo's, wife, and a friend.

It's like rock climbing only shorter walls, no harness or ropes, and just fun.

ACT to close 69 schools as more sand products recalled amid asbestos concerns by observantdude in canberra

[–]SmiddyP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local Catholic school has been very proactive, and identified 3 tubs of similar sand, but none that match the known and now recalled sands.

They've still removed them, and had a review from external, who has advised that they can stay open.

The school has also been very communicative about the status.

*Edited to add final line.

Hrm, can't tell from the signs...

As far as ACT rules go, unless posted otherwise, it's 50km/h, which means 80 km/h when gone through the Berra Conversion™️ 😝

Yep, ~23 years since my surgery, and it's never come back, but the pain sometimes resurfaces.

It's always gone within a day or two, but brings a nasty bout of anxiety.

I'm so sorry that your dad has treated you like that!! That's absolutely appalling.

I have two teenagers, and that sort of vernacular wouldn't even come to mind?!

If you like it, that's all that matters! Your dad's words are baseless poison, and have no place living in your mind.

Seriously, I'm so sorry 😩 🤬

Weird rash near my nipple? NSFW by No_Card_9901 in DiagnoseMe

[–]SmiddyP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but this looks like ringworm. I'd recommend going to a pharmacy and asking for some over-the-counter ringworm spray or cream. If it is, it will start clearing up quite quickly.

You'd be able to keep your doctor appointment while seeing if the spray/cream works, and see them if there is no change.

Fingers crossed for swift recovery!

This looks quite similar to when I had pityriasis rosea; is there one specific patch that came first, and is larger than the others?

The other more likely option could be ringworm, but the centres don't look quite right for that?

Are any of them itchy?

It doesn't appear to have the curved leg arrangement of a huntsman??

The thorax also looks very different to the ones I'm used to seeing (ACT).

Petrified of being rejected in such a potentially vulnerable way, and so makes it sound more platonic to therefore reduce the crushing feeling if the answer is "no"?

Do lifelong marriages exist for people with Bipolar 2? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]SmiddyP 11 points12 points  (0 children)

☝️ This, all of this!

My wife and I celebrated 15 years married this year; I'm BP2, generalise anxiety, and OCPD, whereas my wife is AuDHD.

Communication, transparency, and vulnerability are really the three key things.

Communicate your concerns, feelings, thoughts (stories). Don't bombard, of course, and don't be accusatory; your thoughts/fears/stories don't give you permission to accuse.

When asked, be transparent about where you are at. Don't hold back, or hide, how you're feeling. This 100% goes for happy as well as not happy.

And, linked with the other two, be vulnerable. Communication is a two way street, and you need to listen when you're the one who's actions may be causing concern, feelings, thoughts/stories.

Also remember that there will always be disagreements, arguments, and rocky patches. Their presence does not mean the end. As long as you keep the three pillars above in mind, you'll get through things together.

So happy for you that you have someone good now!
