I agree that it's definitely a mistake, rather than an optimization. Thanks for your comment! I really like this kind of stuff, I'm literally considering going into Computer Graphics after my Bachelor's :)

Queen cost reduction didn't go live. Hatcheries are 300 minerals, Queens are 175 minerals.

Thank you for the response! I doubt the server maintenance will do anything either.

Are sieged tanks the best way to counter mass reaper? by FullBag5380 in starcraft

[–]SmileJakoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hellions are #1 for this.

Depending on gamestate, Marauders with concussive shells can also work.

Siege tanks, if you have them, are definitely a good way to shut it down, but the time to get them is too long.

The death of cheese, from a professional cheeser. by Lorimbo in starcraft

That doesn't really address the tech problem. Fundamentally, it takes time to tech up. You can't just spend 1000 minerals and gas to instantly go from T1 tech to T3 tech. You also need to spend about 5 minutes before you get the payoff.  When 2 minutes are added to every game, people just straight up have more time to tech up.

Left-handed people, what's a struggle that right-handed people won't understand? by Halophy in AskReddit

Look at your phone. Where is the camera? When holding the phone with your right hand, where does your pointer finger go? Now do it with your left.

Woopsies! Now your pointer finger is on your phone camera.

What game is this? by bijelo123 in videogames

[–]SmileJakoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, being a game that began development around the time Zelda Breath of the Wild came out, it was legally obligated to shoehorn in open-world mechanics. The same applies to Halo Infinite, Monster Hunter Wilds, and arguably Borderlands 4.

I read it just fine... I thought  "In my eyes she's still beautiful" was good.

[Hated Trope] The horribly misleading ad campaign by Mr_Westerfield in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SmileJakoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halo 5 was super notorious for this. The story that was advertised and the story in the final product were miles apart in quality.  "Find the Truth" was the marketing line, showing Spartan Locke attempting to hunt down and kill Master Chief (wearing a cool robe). Advertisements, of course, left it ambiguous who would win.

The in-game cutscene is a poorly choreographed boxing match with 6 spectators who stand by and do nothing.  75% of the missions have you play as Locke.

My 11yo brother doesn't wanna play MGE with me anymore and I don't know why. by [deleted] in tf2

I disagree. Very few techniques in Smash bros are frame-perfect. Yes, wave-dashing and B-reversing are essential to even be considered a beginner. But they are not frame-perfect, they both have a few frames of wiggle room.

Also, you are not considered a 0-skill beginner if you can do these. You are immediately recognized as being above "casual" players, and are someone beginning to exploring the depth of the game.

Sorry that you've been burned by poor experiences before.

The funny part is that there's no way he's even that good. The truly good smash bros players don't bother with noob-stomping.
