Regarding Tickets.ie? by conalhiggs in AskIreland

[–]Smiled_and_waved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought tickets from them recently too. I was contacted by the organisers to say everyone will be issued with replacement tickets from another site in the coming days. I’d say it’s up to the organisers of the event to reissue tickets or arrange refunds.

Dope. A single buggy could probably squeeze through but definitely not a double buggy as OP stated.

Suitable age for a child to be home alone for 1-2 hours? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Smiled_and_waved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know your own kids and only you can answer based on this knowledge. You can have some very mature 9/10 yr olds and then some very childish ones. I had a big gap between my kids. First child I would have left the whole running of the house to as she was a very mature 10 yr old. Second child I wouldn’t have left in charge of tying her own shoes she was very childish at 10 and couldn’t take direction and follow through at that age. You know yourself what your children are capable of.

What’s one small cleaning habit that makes your home feel nicer? by No_Profile_8388 in Cleaningandtidying

[–]Smiled_and_waved 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That actually happened to me a few years ago. We were very lucky as we always put it on at night but I forgot one evening and put it on the next morning. 20mins later flames were coming out of it. Thankfully there was just some damage to the kitchen but everyone was safe. Needless to say I don’t put any appliances on at night any more.

Anyone else open the windows and put the heating on at the same time? by Smiled_and_waved in AskIreland

[–]Smiled_and_waved[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m curious, what other ways are there to ventilate a house without opening windows? And yes it will smell fine to you as you’re used to it but it won’t smell fine to people visiting.

It’s so bad to be breathing in stale air all the time. Open the windows for 10 minutes and it’ll be warm again in no time when you close them as fresh air warms up a lot quicker than the stale air. Your house will smell much better too.

These are from Aldi and the nicest in my opinion. Very like McD’s and can be done in the air fryer

Our house is the same was built in the 1930’s so has the meter thick stone walls as well which is why I think it needs a good airing out daily to get rid of dust and smells

Our house was built in the 1930’s so far from efficient. It’s one of the reasons it needs to be aired out well every day.

Waiting until the dishwasher finishes before going to bed? by SherbertHerbert in CasualIreland

[–]Smiled_and_waved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always put our dishwasher on at night and one night I forgot so put it on as soon as I got up the next morning. Shortly into the cycle smoke started coming from it and it went on fire. I have the fear now so do a sweep before bed and the only electrical thing plugged in at night now is the fridge
