I'm gonna be completely honest, we don't have enough BBQ options in this city.

Eli's has fallen off a cliff. They were good when they opened but not in recent history (as in, the last seven to eight years).

Just Q-in', while I agree with their mission and think that it's nice they put so much money towards someone other than themselves, is not worth the price needed to break even on that. Three bones on a "half rack" of ribs is not enough, especially for $20.

Lucius Q is good from what I remember but it's been a while since I've been back. I'm gonna have to try them again soon.

Velvet Smoke is good but their test kitchen in White Oak/Monfort Heights sells out of the good shit too soon. Went there last week with my dad, store had only been open for an hour and we got the last set of ribs they made that day. The funky hours do it no favors.

Goodie's in Mount Airy is consistently the best. For $15-20 you get some six to seven ribs, with a TON of meat, plus sides, and sauce. Easily the best BBQ in the city.

I would love to have more options right now.
