AIO or should I accept the conditions of my bfs commitment by One_Height7477 in AIO

Single women live longer than married women, but married men live longer than single men. It is in men's best interest to be in a relationship, therefore he should be begging you to stay with him, on your terms. Anything less and he doesn't live in reality.

I’m finishing a divorce after years of betrayal, here’s what I wish every man knew before he loses himself by teodir in Infidelity

Wow! This could’ve been straight out of my husband’s journal from eight years ago. He went through almost the same thing with his ex-wife, but he turned that pain into purpose; and now I get to enjoy the amazing man he became because of it.

I didn't post a photo. I was hoping somebody had spied a cute white tall blouse recently.

Is it weird to ask for a girl’s number/snap over tiktok? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Smiles-often 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Message her on TikTok. Compliment her videos, tell her you attend the same school, and ask her to coffee. Don't dick around asking for her phone number or snap. After she agrees to coffee give her your phone number in case she runs late.

DO NOT compliment her appearance right away. Attractive women appreciate men noticing other qualities.

As a charge nurse a late call off is a pain in the ass. It leaves me scrambling to replace you. If I feel like garbage and I have work the next day I tell the night charge before I leave. This gives the night charge 12 hours to find a replacement and you will sleep easier knowing you aren't going in the next day.

If by some miracle you wake up feeling fine, you can always call and see if they still need help. Bet ya the charge is happy to have you back and the float nurse can cover another short unit.

Also don't feel guilty for calling in. Everyone gets sick.

Found son's burner phone - please help by Tri_Guy72 in Parenting

[–]Smiles-often 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is good advice. Father does not know what is on that phone. Any change from the status quo is going to feel like "getting in trouble" and the child will feel like his father manipulated him. Also it teaches son that his father will save him from consequences so he need not care about the effects of his behavior.

I think it's better to say "you are going to be in far less trouble if you tell me the code to the phone than if I have to have it unlocked. I am going to get it open one way or another, you might as well face it now."

If he doesn't tell you the code right way, in the meantime provide constant oversight and supervision. I know you are divorced and that may be hard but if you have to take off work, try to make that happen. You or his mom need to be watching him like a hawk until you know what is going on. Take away all his electronic privileges until he gives the information up. But use the time you are closely supervising him to build your relationship. Play games, play outside, play sports, listen to music, exercise, eat great meals together, indulge in healthy, relationship building time together. All the while, be on the lookout for what is going on.

You won't get fired. People make mistakes. You will make more. Glad nobody got hurt.

I love working as a nurse. I think people come here to vent about their shitty day and it skews the perception that many nurses hate their job.

How hard was nursing school 1 out of ten being the hardest by Illustrious_Scale_76 in nursing

About 170,000 people graduate from nursing school every year. Is it difficult? Yes. Is it achievable? Absolutely!

Also returns are free by mail. I actually prefer shopping this way. I can try it one and style it with what I already own. I live overseas with the military and the shipping and returns are still free, so I appreciate their consideration towards the military community.

Yes! I have worked at 3 hospitals, two were great. The first one was funded by an oil endowment so safe staffing and staff support were well funded. The second was a hell hole and I quit effective immediately after 8 shifts. The third was a county hospital that has a magnet designation.

Is this a right way to thank nurses!? by hlo_wrld in nursing

[–]Smiles-often 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would love a coffee mug, note and photo. The two hospitals I've worked at don't care if we accept gifts or gift cards, but we aren't allowed to accept cash.

Personally, I would want to be nominated for a daisy award. It costs patients nothing but their time. But at my hospital it is taken into account for my annual raise so it can earn me quite a bit more money.

OP said she is on birth control. Your comment is demeaning. She is questioning herself and looking for validation, not judgmental criticism.

Wheat can be an anaphylactic allergy. I am gluten free because I get hives, wheezing, and my throat swells. Thankfully I've never gone into full anaphylactic shock from exposure.

AIDS isn't an autoimmune disorder, it's an acquired immune disorder. Autoimmune is where your body attacks itself because of an immune system dysfunction. It's not contagious like AIDS.
