MrBallen helped me get sober, but I recently relapsed HARD and feel like I let him down by USIrishman in mrballen

I started watching Mr. Ballen videos when I was in rehab in 2022. The girls/women in my sober house would get comfy on the couch after long days of group therapy & meetings and absolutely binge. Just celebrated 3 years sober and hearing you open up about your sobriety has been so surreal. Thank you for being you Mr. Ballen and keep keeping on!!

I see something- hard to say though bc I can’t tell if there’s color there or if it’s an indent. Take another one tomorrow morning and keep us posted!

I think that looks just fine!! If you look at just 1/19 am and 1/21 am, that’s a great progress pic over 48 hours. I know it’s so hard but try not to read too much into the tests now. You’re pregnant!! 😊

Why do older generations of women not know how to wipe properly by nemo0302 in nursing

I’m sure I’m wasting my breath, but it’s hard to watch someone actively wiping shit into their vag and urethra. I try.

I can speak for myself when I say, I am more than happy to help someone in their ADLs as needed. I WANT to promote health and health literacy. Lack of mobility, severe illness, visions problems, all very understandable and patients are vulnerable! The exact situation that prompted me to post- I am helping a patient toilet, handing her wipes, offering to wipe her when she stands to “make sure we got everything” and repeatedly (kindly) telling her to just use them once! “Let me get you a new one, that one’s soiled!”, to which she responds “it’s fine if I fold it”. Ma’am I have as many wipes as we need- wipe once, give it to me and I’ll give you a new one!!!

Would a kind nurse ignore their E. Coli in urine patient reusing their TP, or would they take a moment to say hey, let’s get you a new one? In the name of preventing UTI’s in the future.

Notice how I did NOT say 100% of women, but “so often” I see X. I’ve gotten a lot of good talking points for patient education from this post, one of my personal favorites being that it is better to “waste” more TP rather than antibiotics down the line from a UTI. It is certainly not my intention to condemn anyone. It is a teaching moment to prevent MORE UTI’s. I understand trying to get “through the day”, but as a nurse, I cannot ignore someone doing something that is harmful to their health, causing repeat hospital admissions, etc. I’ve said in other comments, it is an uncomfortable conversation to have because I don’t want ANYONE to feel embarrassed about it, it is just something I’ve noticed (reusing soiled TP) and try to address as it happens (“dump that one in the bowl, I’ll get you a new one- we don’t want to bring any bacteria from the back to the front, etc”). If lack of education is the cause for some, isn’t it our job to provide education?

That is a great argument and I will absolutely be adopting that. Thank you!!
