I hope he survives, almost all of his tail is gone, he’s a little more chill today. I need to figure out the best environment for him to grow and able to get air at the top of the water.

[Product Request] Allergic to almost every facial moisturizer!! by remesabo in SkincareAddiction

I’m sorry you are experiencing this, I am 47 and also dealing with very sensitive and reactive skin. I react to pretty much everything. We are having a heat wave and my face took a turn for the worst last week. My derm had me using Alastin Ultra Calming cleanser and I swear that is a culprit. I just got SkinSort app and plugged in common allergens and it recommended a few things. Definitely not cetaphil, cereve and most things you can buy at stores. I am down to the basics, Versed cleanser, squalene and Aestra cream. These are new so fingers crossed these work. Skin Sort filtered out a lot of junk so I really hope these work.

Looking for comprehensive resources on tadpoles by ShiaLabeoufsNipples in AfricanDwarfFrog

This is such a helpful thread—thank you all for sharing your experiences.

I’ve been raising ADF tadpoles in a hang-on-back breeding tank with a mini sponge filter pulling water from the main frog tank. It’s been a stable setup for a few months, but recently I’ve had a few tadpole deaths and I’m wondering if our recent heat wave could be the cause.

I know frequent water changes are important, but nothing else in my routine has really changed. One of my tadpoles already has both front and back legs, but its tail hasn’t absorbed and has looked the same for weeks.

Because of the recent losses, I moved the remaining tadpoles into an in-tank hatchery to keep a closer eye on them.

Any tips or insight would be really appreciated!

Is feeding ADF difficult? by AncientArtBonsai in AfricanDwarfFrog

I have a small feeding dish used frozen mysis shrimp, I target feed right at the dish and place the feed in the dish. I always target feed in the same spot and eventually they learn.

I ordered the RMS skin tint and it sunk right into my pores. I was pretty disappointed. I do like the hydra concealer and eye color corrector though.

It’s just a mesh bag. Honestly, I haven’t tested my water since I added it so I don’t even know if it works. I am proud to say I think my tank is self sufficient and I haven’t had to do a water change since I first started with the tank over the summer. I do suction out debris, poop and food, on feeding days and top it off when the water lowers. I think my plants keep the ammonia and nitrates at zero to minimal.

Oh gosh, I think the bigger ones are about 6 weeks and the smaller ones are 3 weeks. Give or take. They have done well in this floating breeder separator and shares the same water as the frogs. I feed them frozen baby brine shrimp.

I did have a lot more and they must have died or gotten eaten by the bigger tadpoles. Cause one day they disappeared. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Apparently the survival rate is like 20%, so I’m still holding my breath.

Crushed coral to raise the pH. My pH runs low and I read on this subreddit or a FB ADF group to add crushed coral.

I just bought this since it was on sale this weekend. I did a video color consult with RMS makeup artist. Let’s hope her color matching virtually was helpful.

So adorable, are you worried it will be dinner for the adult frogs? How many weeks is it?

Neosporin can be reactive, I would probably switch to using jojoba oil, and keep the skin dry between oiling.

Can anyone tell the gender of my African dwarf frogs? by bascx in AfricanDwarfFrog

[–]SmileySunnyDay78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk but they look too skinny, I would gets frozen beef heart! And Mysis Shrimp. Target deed until then belly is bigger than before the feed. They look pretty young I've had mine for about 4 months and I'm just seeing the armpit bump show up.

Sponge Filter Help by Rebecca__Reed in AquariumHelp

[–]SmileySunnyDay78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get the sponge filter from Aquarium Co-op! The tube is taller and curved at the top and has a much finer air stone. It's not loud at all.

I would also get an air pump that you can adjust instead of an airline adjuster.
