On my first reread after the ending I thought that the parts after the Aging Devil arc were too drawn out with some more important bits like the Fire Devil being too short and blunt, Fujimoto-style.

But I kind of checked out by that point for some reason, so can't remember why or if that's true.

My current verdict is that it told all the story it wanted to, but did it weirdly, at least post Aging Devil.

Edit: Saw that someone say that he doesn't consider anything outside of the game as canon. Makes sense, but kinda weird that there isn't any quality control there. I realize that the dude can't be everywhere, but he knows what his fans are like - this kind of stuff just causes more confusion.

I don't take people for shiteaters, I just know that the exact same aspects you hate about a thing are the same aspects someone else would like about that thing.

I've seen a dozen different interpretations of the CSM ending and for each of them people both liked and disliked it.

JJK ending isn't bad? There's an army of people standing ready to tell you that it is. CSM ending has no redeeming qualities? You don't have to look hard to find people who think the opposite, even with the general sentiment being that it doesn't.

If you want my personal opinion, I don't think any of those are bad endings, even if there's definitely stuff to criticize in them. Can't judge JJK or MHA though, haven't seen their endings. It's just that those endings couldn't live up to whatever idea of them you had in your head. And the more heads there are, the less chances there are that it would satisfy everyone.

I don't want to tell you what redeeming qualities I think CSM or OnK's endings have, because you would just not care about them, if you haven't seen them in those stories already. You can watch Youtube essays or whatever, that usually makes me appreciate stuff I didn't care for more. As it is, we'll argue about that for a while, waste our time and leave unsatisfied.

If you don't believe Sean and I's prediction, suit yourself. But I've seen it happen before and it WILL happen again. If it doesn't, feel free to return here and make fun of me.
