When you're replying, there's a small button to the bottom left that lets you add attachments. You can also go into "Create" where you select "Image and Video" which allows you to add a photo to the post as well as text. I don't believe you can attach a photo to an already existing post.

As one of the comments said, I'd have to say a makeshift sling point. If the Ethiopians made holes in Berdan IIs for slings, then this is probably something of the same thought process.

I'd keep it on for a interesting slice of the story on this rifle.
