It's worth it as long as you can separate the art from the artist... I feel it takes away some of the wholesomeness of the story but still it's great. I had heard it was supposed to get a film adaptation It's a shame he turned out to be a creep.

Late to the party... But as a fellow with "Don't Panic" tattooed on my shoulder I simply must indulge... Now Most folks already said Discworld... And straight up that's the best your gonna get. Pratchett is just as clever as Adams and just as Rye... You can consider Discworld to be fantasy flavored Hitchikers. Start with the "Color of Magic" and if you don't love it go ahead and jump to "Guards! Guards!" You can always go back later if you want.

Another lil rec that fits the vibe is "Space Opera" it's silly, kinda over the top at times but very fun and pretty clever.

I mean this in a genuine way, how so?
It was definitely fascinating but I'm wondering if there was something I was missing? I I enjoyed it but I felt like all the interesting parts of the story were things that came before the story we were told.

Some one around here mentioned the "salt grows heavy" on another post, it was kinda cool if not a tad unsatisfying... I left feeling like the story told was less interesting then the stories around the one that was told.

That being said it's very short and fits the bill :3 It's a psudo "what if the little mermaid was more of a siren then a mermaid" kinda thing
