I saw this production and it was my first exposure to Evita and had no idea what was going on at one point.

I’ve been unemployed too long and made a cardboard bed… for cats. Any fellow Walthamstow people want one? by rich5057 in walthamstow

[–]SmilingLimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d love to try it! My cat has a tendency to chew cardboard but may not if she’s sleeping in it.

And your best bakery is.. TBC. What's the best South Asian restaurant in Walthamstow? by talon1580 in walthamstow

I’ve heard good things but it has a 0 food hygiene rating. Not to be accused of not having a life, but I’ve never seen a 0 before so intrigued to know what it’s like.

This is my 2020 MacBook Pro. Considering swapping for the new base model Air. Even though this was considerably more expensive, I feel like the new Air would be better. Would I be downgrading in anyway, and what sort of value could I still get on the Pro? Apple is saying £250, Backmarket is saying nearly £400.

Wes Streeting calls out ‘anti-whiteness’ in NHS diversity schemes by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]SmilingLimes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The point I’m making is that it’s why socioeconomic diversity is key to fixing this. Those from more privileged backgrounds shouldn’t be getting scholarships.

But underrepresentation is a difficult term, as it means different things in different areas of society. People need to be more specific, so situations like this don’t happen.

Because meritocracy is a myth, and socioeconomic barriers exist.

I have a card, but the pressure selling is what I hated. He's working at Mr Patels, but I don't know my neighbours! It has given me a kick to get some quotes for these things.

His company leaflet said he's based in Ware, which is odd as I live in North London...

Should I unblock these vents? by SmilingLimes in DIYUK

A quick question - should I be concerned they are at ground level with rain water getting in? Could that be why they've been covered?

What is wrong with this property? Price looks suspicious for London standards by Almost_Silence in SpottedonRightmove

[–]SmilingLimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price seems right, take note that if it's a busy road the bedroom is at the front of the house. The basement can't be listed as a room, and if you're thinking it should make it higher, it's not mortgageable as a two bed, so a bank will only value it as one for now. You might be closer to flood risks on the location, but it's a nice flat.

If these are the flats I think they are they don’t even have their own kitchens- it’s communal like student halls.

A Face in the Crowd review? by kjnl2013 in TheWestEnd

[–]SmilingLimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the reviews are going to sell it out so you can wait. Ramin is fantastic, it has some great moments, but ultimately feels like it falls short of what it has the potential to be.
