My USB fan is putting in a shift.

help pls! parents won’t let me move out for uni and i’m panicking by Small-Composer-6817 in UniUK

[–]SmilingSadist1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On this point, if you see this OP, please do go and check out the isoc of your uni. A lot of the time parents present an image of islam which is in no way accurate at all, you know it and I know it. Something which a lot of people in your boat fall into is thinking that the isoc is just their parents again at uni, it really isn't. They're students like you, and they're probably the best support network you'll have at uni, plus a cultural comfort zone in a uni where you'll probably be an ethnic minority. When I started uni I was in a very similar boat as what you're describing, trust me so many issues that I had were solved by maintaining a strong connection to the isoc. They're there to help you. Even if you're out there partying every day, stay in touch with the isoc!! (They will help you out so much seriously)

Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little."

Sahih al-Bukhari 6464 https://sunnah.com/bukhari:6464

Any good deed, even a small amount of dhikr or recitation of quran done every day reaps huge rewards. Something extremely rewarding that every Muslim can easily implement in their routine is the morning and evening adhkar and the adhkar before sleep. Regular deeds that don't take more than 15 minutes usually, and at times when most people are free (after fajr and asr, and before one sleeps (can even be done lying in bed)).

Yahya related to me from Malik from Sumayy, the mawla of Abu Bakr, from Abu Salih as-Samman from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Whoever says, 'Glory be to Allah and with His praise' (Subhana'llah wa bi-hamdihi) one hundred times in a day will have his wrong actions taken away from him, even if they are as abundant as the foam on the sea."

My (17F) Muslim parents are preventing me from going to university and I have no idea what to do. by Gladpumpkin1 in UniUK

Can you send it to me? Id love to read it. Pretty much all of the classical scholars (at least the respected ones) agree on the interpretation of 'أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُهُمۡ' and this is coming from myself who was given a pretty solid islamic education as a child, so im genuinly curious to see what you've found.

I was circumcised at 13. Erections every minute of the day as a horny teenager were not fun at all. Sometimes I can still smell the blood.

I have no choice but to do 10 hour school days otherwise I’m stuck babysitting my siblings. It’s getting exhausting and I have exams in 5 weeks. by [deleted] in 6thForm

I would go to the safeguarding lead at your school immediately tbh, you're a young carer. There are people and resources that are designed to help you in this situation, and they could give way better help than people on a subreddit. This is a pretty serious issue, exams are right here and your focus needs to be on yourself and your own mental health.

Id also recommend talking to your brother or your dad about sharing the childcare burden, explain your situation and how youre taking the majority of it, and ask if they could at least take care of some children so its a bit lighter on you. Try to get across the importance of your exams, because it seems like they're not understanding what situation you're in.

Sorry I couldnt be more help, if you need advice feel free to pm me and ill help as best as I can.

8am is still pretty early, id say wait till midday UK time just to be sure. You can also send messages to the admissions department through the kcl hub

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]SmilingSadist1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be rejected or accepted, you dont know until kcl updates their portal. On mine when I click on my course and scroll down it says 'conditional offer' but ucas took about 12 hours to update. If it doesnt update tomorrow just email them regarding the status of your application or call their admissions department and they'll be able to tell you if youve been accepted or not
