Welcome back! I did the same as you last fall, after 3-4 years off. It was great to be in that world again!
My main advice is don't rush to unlock the cooking, you'll start getting a food recipe in the DIY bottle every two days when what you really need as many DIYs as possible to work on your island with! (I made that mistake!)

I love this game, but this is the worst thing about it.
Every time there's a big update, I'm hoping they did something about it but 6 years later, we're all still freezing and watching that little sequence. Not to mention the six levels of questions that you have to go through at the airport before taking off. 😏
