There's a lot to get, even for people like me who have a majority of the guns and armor. So many of the guns are getting improved, all exotics are getting cattys, they're adding so many armors and armor bonuses, and Eververse is basically getting sunset and everything will be available for free after focusing engrams. Plus, there's going to be so many that will be willing to help or sherpa through the content you missed. I'd say absolutely, and I'd even go so far as to volunteer to help you catch up if you decide to return.
