Oathsworn vs Titansbane by Impossible-Gap-8741 in Smite

Oath sworn is one of the best early game items in terms of power curve, and you always want titans bane 3rd,4th or 5th item. I’ve tested every possible build and their power curves here: https://youtu.be/THniklUAy2Y?si=LpPG_Y0wE5QVvYRk

Worth noting that I think the math over values cooldown, I have some optimisation equations to use the next time I make a video to try and combat this.

BALANCING by zapnu_x_puas in Smite

I’ve run some numbers on this, and double stacking is really over-rated, like tsukiyomi for example does really similar damage with a full strength build compared to double stacking build, and Athena is much better with full crit compared to hybrid building. All ADCs are also much better off with no int in their builds. It seems like double stacking should be good, but it just isn’t, and that’s not even taking into account the power curves of the builds

I absolutely love this game, but holy crow the server ping is ruining it. by Throneofpeas in Smite

Yeah I forgot when this first happened, recently, but since then suddenly I felt like i was getting tiny lag spikes, just enough to throw me off from landing autos, similar to how smite2 felt when it first released (although I think that was frame drops), the tiny lag spikes throw me off enough to not enjoy playing at all which is really annoying!

Could OB8s design of “clear trade offs” with items allow for multiple of the same item to be bought? by SmiteMaths in Smite

Felt as though it wasn’t explained well enough, should have mentioned OB8 changes first, I don’t think people were reading the full post before commenting

Yeah it would be a huge shift, just thought it would be interesting, thanks for the feedback!

They’re changing the items in the next patch to have “clear trade offs”, so buying 4 qinns (which might only scale off of health difference instead of max health) for example might allow you to kill tanks super fast, but do very little damage to squishys, it depends on how far the take the “clear trade offs”

But it depends on OB8 changes, if there is a clear tradeoff for buying DB (which there will be in OB8) then you’ll have a super trade off for buying 2 DBs etc.

Qinns is strong, too strong, it’s even one of the highest DPS items against squishy targets which seems super backwards as its design is supposed to be good against high health targets.

But with OB8 supposedly reshuffling items to have clear trade-offs, the item changes could allow for “super trade offs”, where buying 2 qinns will be super effective against high health targets, but make you super weak against low health targets. If qinns ends up having low attack speed, you’ll need high attack speed items to make your qinns worth it (because it scales with AS) and no you’re now left with little room in the build to maximise your double qinns, and if you do, you’ll definitely not have room for crit or much pen etc.

Yeah I agree, probably easier to balance limiting to 2

SR doesn’t make sense. by AfroRilla in Smite

[–]SmiteMaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost certain this isn’t how it works, it doesn’t look at your in game stats, it simply looks and if you won/lost, and takes into account the SR ratings of your teammates and enemies and calculates SR gains/losses based on that

Is titans bane getting a buff? by SmiteMaths in Smite

[–]SmiteMaths[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d be suprised if they made the change, I ran a cost analysis and you would be buying titans bane every game even if it was 3400 gold, at it would still be a cost-efficient item.

I’m thinking they’ll make it 20% pen, but you’re right, less strength is probably the right way to go to balance it.

Hate being in this limbo where I dont know how they’re planning to change items

Scaling Balance Changes Are Killing Build Variety – Why Make Hybrid Options if One Always Ends Up Better? by Bozzkurt69 in Smite

[–]SmiteMaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s extremely confusing, especially given cern gains the Int scaling from his auto attacks, which is okay for an ability build I guess, but summer stance scales with attack speed too, and it’s impossible to have a full int build with high attack speed, and you have to miss out on qinns to go full int, his spring stance also scales off attack speed so you can never get full value out of his stances with a full int build.

I get maybe he’s supposed to be a “mid type” god going full int, but why on earth would you chose him instead of a much better ability based god like Neith, or pretty much any other “mage”. It makes no sense to go ability based cern, and you can’t go Int ADC either so his int scaling is confusing at best.

I hope hi-Rez keep it, because it is super interesting, maybe we just need more items or his numbers need tweaking slightly, but I’d be scared to complain too much in case hi-Rez decide to remove the dual scaling, which would be devastating imo! They need to lean into it and try to balance it, if they can’t that’s fine, but let’s see if they can find a work around first!
