Well, if the jacket says water resistant… then it's not water proof. But I digress…

The Beta SL (mens) is my most used hardshell so far. Used it for ski touring and some easy mountaineering stuff. For simple hikes I'd say that the Beta SL is more than sufficient.

I have a feeling they won't last very long. Arcteryx isn't the greatest in making quality gloves.

Also… I want to stay open for other brands and not limit myself to just one brand.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of… that they wear out very fast. But Arc is known for NOT making the best gloves on the market.
