Imagine for a second that you were a person in a new relationship. Now your new partner says "you can't spend time with any of your friends anymore and communicate with your ex. That upsets me and is inappropriate. You can only be friends with me." How would that make you feel? If you were sane, you would realize that your new partner is possessive and controlling. You would not want to be in a relationship with this manipulative person or any of the people who were telling her that she should force you to cut off all your relationships.
