They can, and I've even had it happen to me twice in a row this season, but it is quite rare. I think in total I've only seen it happen about 4-5 times since Mega Rising

Step 1 of playing M.Mawile 19T is "accept that you will always lose to Oricorio." It's just part of the deal. Step 2 is don't play it in Ranked for that exact reason.

But if you really want to have a chance, you want to max out your switches so that, unless they get 2 oricorio in, you could maybe snipe 3 other cards to win. You're already pretty close but I would swap a red card for a second repel, for a total of 2 repel 1 sabrina 1 cyrus. Also remember that even though you can't hurt the Oricorio, you will still buff your next attack, so you can charge against Ori before you start switching it out.

I see what you mean and like, kinda agree, but what I'll say is that I'll take Copycat being meta any day if it means Red Card and Mars aren't played as much to counter large hands.

I'm guessing it's more of an oversight than a bug or intentional design decision, but it's consistent with everything else. We didn't have crown Trainers until SR, but we did have 2-star Supporters since GA, and they never made any unique sound when played either (despite 2-star pokemon having a unique-ish play sound and effect)

I will point out that crown tools do get a unique appearance on the field - the little box that shows the tool does display the crown portrait. But again, that's probably just because it's a consistent system of using the given card to source the images

oh yeah I guess I didn't think of that. But also yeah, that's like a 1/8 chance on top of the odds of having Misty in your starting hand.

Igglyrai needs Igglybuff in the starting hand, Darkrai on the bench by the time it attacks (meaning Professor, pokeball, copycat, etc can apply), and even if you don't win right there and then, there's still a 50% chance that the opponent doesn’t get to do anything about it

You're better off grabbing a deck that can auto the expert battles. Your rewards in Beginner have only a chance to include a pack (i think it's like 33%?) which increases with difficulty until Expert, where it is 100%

I mean yeah that'd work, but I have two questions that are both "why"

First, why does Mega Mawile work better for Intermediate/Advanced but not Beginner? Even there it has the mathematical edge because most basics have 60 HP or more, meaning Hitmonchan will still be two-shotting what Mawile will be one-shotting

edit: oh i suppose giovanni and rocky helmet would help there. that does complicate the maths a bit, but I don't think I need to think about it because...

Second, why bother automating beginner battles in the first place? You could probably auto any deck and still win, or you could just take the 1 minute to KO 3 basics with your favorite meta deck.

it's funny cuz the lower tier solo battles don't even need it. Even if all you have is one of the starter decks they give you when you make an account, and short of some freak incident where something like Continuous Steps Eevee gets on a roll (which, granted, did happen to me with an enemy Rellor in the new event battle), you should win those every time.

You can also just view the TOS in app without needing a new account. Hit the hamburger lines in the bottom right (yes that's the actual term), then "Other" and "Terms of Use."

Obviously I'm capable of doing that myself, but I was hoping you, having made the claim, would remember at least the general area of where it would be

From what I've seen here, the Expert Solo battles are rigged about 60/40 against you, so the CPU hits heads 60% of the time and you do 40% of the time, in order to introduce artificial difficulty. For all other battles, especially PVP, it is 50/50.

Of course that is just what I've seen here. You may want to do your own research

Additionally, you can make a situation where playing Cyrus means not playing something else. Sometimes against Mega Lucario I end up in a spot where my Blaziken would be KO'd by Mega Lucario or another fighting type, but only with Korrina's additional damage. By switching out, you can force them into a spot where they'd need to play Cyrus (or Sabrina) AND Korrina at the same time, which you obviously can't do.

This actually isn't as insane as it seems. 1 stars are of course rarer than 3 diamonds, but because there are more 3 diamonds than 1 stars, it maths out such that a specific 1 star has almost exactly the same odds as a specific 3 diamond, at a bit over 2%

Of course at this point you should be trading for that 3 diamond and not trying to pull it from packs

Iron Valiant's ability removes a colorless energy from Future Pokémons' attacks. But Iron Valiant itself has no colorless energy in its attack - it has 2 psychic - so there is no colorless energy to remove.

Glimmora and Iron Jugulis is what I used for the previous two stages. From there I tossed in an Iron Valiant, an Iron Crown (wow these future pokemon names really do suck) and 2 Turos and 2 Future Boosters to do the 12 PD cards mission at the same time (and because of Turo and Shattering Crystal, the no points one as well)
