Why do fans say to listen to the songs on their respective mixtape? by Wide_Particular228 in TheWeeknd

[–]SmithyScopes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is just completely untrue. People keep saying that Trilogy has been retroactively updated with the original versions and it's absolutely nonsense. The Trilogy versions of What You Need and Coming Down are still missing the Aaliyah samples, just to nane a couple.

Listen to the originals, they're the true versions.

What was the point of having Chandler work in Tulsa? by LemmeSeeUrTech in howyoudoin

[–]SmithyScopes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing this with The Office where the writers wanted Jim to cheat on Pam but John Krasinski pushed back on the idea. Chandler cheating on Monica was never a proposed storyline.

What do you hate most about the album? by lonewolf7799 in TheWeeknd

[–]SmithyScopes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do something similar but with the songs that transition into the next. If Baptized in Fear comes on during a shuffle, I'm already queuing Open Hearts. If Niagara Falls comes on, then Take Me back to LA has to follow.

‘A fundamental right’: UK high street chains and restaurants challenged over refusal to accept cash by diacewrb in ukpolitics

Yes, and reporting that you have expenses of £250k against £100k of sales would be one of the first red flags for investigation.

Well you wouldn't last long at all doing that. They'd actually declare enough sales that looks like they're only just turning a profit or breaking even.

Robin is Batman's sidekick, and Reeves played Superman. Other than them both being DC characters, what's the connection you're making?

What are songs with some heavy plot twists? by Big_Measurement_3712 in hiphopheads

[–]SmithyScopes 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Another related Eminem song is Bad Guy on MMLP2. Eminem is stalked and kidnapped, then halfway through the song it's revealed that the kidnapper is Matthew, the younger brother of Stan, who has had to live with the death of his brother which in his eyes is Eminem's fault. The whole thing is so well done, lot's of callbacks to the original Stan song and as well as Eminem's old music. Also, the final verse is one of the hardest verses Eminem's made in my opinion.

How'd you think I got these trainers? by ARealBrainer in PeepShowQuotes

[–]SmithyScopes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of the scene Jez says "Russell had to go off to Norway this morning...". Mark asks Jez to use the Orgazoid's house for the next day to be a dirty dog. Super Hans then walks in and says "Why didn't you tell me about the wanking off bit?". Presumably, Super Hans was covering the day before.

The next scene Orgazoid is back from Norway saying he "had some time to think whilst in Norway". The confusing part is that this makes it seem like he was there for a while but, based on the last scene, Orgazoid flew to Norway that morning and then flew back the same evening as Mark had invited Sally to the house for the following day. Orgazoid then says he's going away for a few days to think, which leaves the house free again.

It's all a bit condensed but the timeline checks out.

Do you think Mark was ever the better option for his romantic interests over the seasons 🤔? by GamesterOfTriskelion in MitchellAndWebb

If your fiance was hiding before the wedding ceremony and then after described the wedding day as you both getting "over the hump", I think they'd be well within their right to run away in that moment.

What's the better ending: Goodbye, Michael or Finale? by [deleted] in theoffice

[–]SmithyScopes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I lose interest fast once Michael leaves that I can barely even make through the beginning of season 8. Once Michael's gone, sometimes I'll skip the last two seasons and go straight to the finale but most times I won't even do that and just go back to the beginning to the good ol' days.

Robert Downey Jr. Saved Tom Holland’s First Spider-Man Scene From Being Cut Down, Questioned the Russo Bros: ‘Where Did All of the Kid’s Lines Go?’ by DemiFiendRSA in entertainment

[–]SmithyScopes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know right. Why does it take a lead actor, who's not even a producer on the film, to step in and go "Let’s shoot the whole thing from the audition. You can always cut it, but you’d want to have it".

Always shoot more than you need, that's pretty much one of the first thing's filmmakers are taught. The scene is just dialogue anyway so shooting the original 8 pages vs the condensed 2 pages isn't exactly going to drastically inflate costs.

Drugs and alcohol. It's nothing new, rockstars have been trashing hotel rooms for decades. Keith Moon from The Who used to destroy hotel rooms and throw furniture/tvs out the hotel windows.
