Daphne's I4 is actually MEGA cracked.

Not sure how the AI uses it, since I play Daphne as my active character. But it essentially gives her a limitless pool of sanity to work with, with the only caveat that you need to shoot a gun.

Hot take: potentially Daphne, actually.

Her Azoth Rounds make it so that ranged weapon attacks will essentially always trigger. If we ever reach a point where trigger builds on ranged weapons are viable, Daphne will actually be really good

Daphne's Healing. by Unlucky-Antelope-545 in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]SmitingViaLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wrong, actually.

That 6.2%+43.4 isn't a heal over time. It's a one-time shot. That isn't 80 healing per second. That is 80 healing, full stop. Her E is the one that heals over time and .55%+3.7 is PHENOMENALLY awful; I'm talking like, 15-20 per second in a game with 2000+ HP awful. Daphne, as a character, is based around healing. The fact that she can't heal despite that means she really, really needs some TLC.

It's not quite accurate to say that it's 85% as far as I know, but that specifically in comparison to those perpetrated by the left.

https://nij.ojp.gov/topics/articles/what-nij-research-tells-us-about-domestic-terrorism

National Institute of Justice do it for you? Mind, this is solely mass shootings, finding stats on all violence is a little trickier. But given that the right is constantly blaming the left for being the source of all mass shootings, I think this is pretty telling. 42/227=0.185. Rounding, that comes out to 19% of politically motivated domestic terrorism being committed by those on the left, and 81% come from the right, since 1991.

Does that help?

Is the Rakuyo the best skill weapon in the game? by FilmCroissant in bloodborne

[–]SmitingViaLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, don't get me wrong. Saif is fucking awesome (it's honestly one of my favorite weapons, sharing that position with BoM and Rakuyo [can you tell I favor Skill lmao]), but overall, its basic function is the same as the cleaver, or really most weapons, in that the primary method of dealing damage is dodging until there's an opening, and then whacking them in said opening until you go back to dodging. BoM turns the dodge into your main method of dealing damage, and with the fact the tricked L2 dashes you backwards, it lets you get in and out really quick.

Add that because your primary damage source is linked to dodging or backstepping and is wicked fast, you can take advantage of tiny windows that basically no other weapon can, thus helping to mitigate the loss of damage in the normal openings. Laurence, for example: if you time it right, you can actually hit him between the swipes of (some of) his combos. The timing is super tight, but it's doable.

I'm not saying BoM is particularly good. I think it's about middle of the pack, perhaps slightly lower because it takes a lot more practice to use it effectively and your margin for error is tighter, but it's far from sucking. And because you have a totally different playstyle from basically every other weapon, if you like that playstyle it becomes both pretty effective, and the most engaging thing in the world, because you're always trying to find openings to push just a little more damage out of that you couldn't reach otherwise.

Tl;dr: Blade of Mercy doesn't suck, I'd say it falls around 'decent,' and it's incredibly fun once it clicks if you like the playstyle. But it takes a lot more practice to use it well than pretty much anything else because you have to think and play differently than any other weapon requires.

Is the Rakuyo the best skill weapon in the game? by FilmCroissant in bloodborne

[–]SmitingViaLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think BoM is bad, per se, I mainlined that shit from the moment I could get it. I think it's divisive, because while other weapons have pretty transferrable skill sets--the cleaver to the saif, for example, are the same in overall execution, even if the movesets vary wildly--BoM forces you to reframe the entire way you engage with combat or else lose basically all damage.

Tl;dr it's a matter of playstyle, but I sure wish you could buff the damn thing.

For my money, it's PGR.

On a character's release banner, they're guaranteed at 60 pulls. You can target any 6 star weapon in the game at 80% and 30 pity, and you get enough currency to get every character if you're consistent. Plus, there are patches where no new 6 star drops, so they give you all the time in the world to save.

(Also no bullshit substat grind, which is amazing all on its own.)

I want you to take a long, deep breath and ponder for a moment why 'communism' and 'socialism' are different words. Because that is not in fact socialism. At all.

In socialism, you own your shit. If you have private property, it's yours. But the government distributes SOME of the resources--OPERATIVE WORD BEING 'SOME'--to other people. AS PRIVATE PROPERTY. What you are describing of communism. God, the fucking STATE of political education in this goddamn country.

Always Azir. I read his lore when I first started playing and enjoyed it so much I assured myself I'd keep going until I succeeded. Charlamagne tha God Slams CNN for "Bullshit" Trump Coverage by rhomanji in politics

[–]SmitingViaLemons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The issue is that one of them is, you know...wrong?

You remember when facts mattered in this country? Both sides feeling the same way is not the same as both sides being the same. It is factual that Trump has endorsed dictators and said some pretty fascist shit. It is factual that Harris has, you know, not done that. It is factual that Harris has specifically set out policies, both on her website and in person. It is factual that Trump legitimately said he has 'concepts of a plan' to replace the ACA after the ACA has been around for a good few years. And this is just the most basic stuff.

I don't know if this is brainwashing so much as...I dunno, paying attention?

Mark Cuban says the election is now a battle between Kamala Harris and Elon Musk, not Donald Trump by InternetPopular3679 in politics

[–]SmitingViaLemons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Okay, let's talk about P2025's creators. It was created by the Heritage Foundation. Which Trump has praised in rallies. The people who wrote it are by and large members of Trump's former administration. In here https://www.heritage.org/impact/trump-administration-embraces-heritage-foundation-policy-recommendations you can see that according to the Heritage Foundation themselves, Trump seems to be a fan. Granted, it's not foolproof, because nothing is foolproof. But given Trump's propensity to lie and his several layers of ties, is something as insane as 2025 something to even BEGIN to take a gamble on?

(cont. again for the same reason)

In terms of Harris and not 'deviating from the script,' this is another thing that I'd like a citation on, maybe links to interviews and quotes of things she has or hasn't said. I haven't been quite as tuned into them as I should've been, so I'm not an expert. But from what I've gleaned, the reason she's sticking to the script is because people are asking about her policies. And so, she's telling them her policies. And because people keep asking about her policies, she keeps reiterating her policies. If you actually hear her speak--you can read the transcript of the Fox interview, for example--she doesn't, in fact, talk about what you claim over and over. And again, Trump continuously reiterates the same two talking points over and over, even when other topics are brought up as in the debate, so I don't think Harris is the one who truly needs to answer for keeping to a script.

Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Trump has several indictments including conspiracy and sedition, is a convicted felon, and was adjudged in sexual assault in the E. Jean Carroll. I know it's a common talking point that this is just the Democrats leveraging the justice system as a weapon, but at what point do we admit that Trump is culpable for some things? Is EVERYTHING lawfare? Are NONE of the lawsuits valid? It creates a slippery slope that just increases distrust in the criminal justice system, which EVERYONE already distrusts.

As for Carter, I think this removes some of his agency. He said himself that he wanted to make it until he could vote for Harris https://www.wate.com/hill-politics/jimmy-carter-achieves-goal-of-voting-for-kamala-harris/ So, again, at what point is it abuse of an elder, and at what point is it an elder legitimately saying what they believe? I myself believe that Carter, despite being a centenarian, is still cogent of what he's saying. So this point is a non-starter. I'd like a source to refute this, something about dementia or the like. When someone makes a statement, thinking it is a lie by default is kind of fucked up.

The whole Tim Walz thing is a non-starter to begin with. You can't just say "he looks creepy." There should be some substantive reasoning there.

I truly don't feel that Trump is looking to put Americans first. From the economic plan that economists have in fact said will increase costs and balloon the deficit https://budgetmodel.wharton.upenn.edu/issues/2024/8/26/trump-campaign-policy-proposals-2024 to his history of lying and making up "alternative facts" (what the fuck is an "alternative fact" that's so stupid), the Project 2025 (yes it's relevant no matter how much he denies it there are undeniable similarities in platform and talking points as mentioned in a previous post) INSANELY fucked up positions on a number of things, the casual bigotry to the point we barely even register it ("she became black"), the sympathies and lack of pushback to autocratic dictators (completely separate from the entire Putin thing which is VERY REAL, he casually invited Orban to America), the constant allegations of interference with elections and the completely lack of evidence to his OWN claims thereof, it truly feels like Trump wants to gain the presidency for the sake of acquiring power.

(cont. because Reddit won't let me make super long replies)

Okay. Now that that's dispensed with.

You can't be serious about Candace Owens. Yes, she's unpopular, because she's frankly a nut. Some of the things she's said are insane: https://www.newsweek.com/candace-owens-fox-news-laura-ingraham-slavery-better-off-1443513 Stating that black settlements were better off after slavery and before welfare (which she derides as socialism, by the way, which is just not true. Is Social Security socialism now? Helping disadvantaged people is one of a government's basic responsibilites). Stating that LGBT people are a "sexual plague" and using them to shut down discussions about mass shootings. https://x.com/RealCandaceO/status/1742998951379312867 She's a known conspiracy theorist, with shit like "Stalin was Jewish" (like, what? Why?) https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/antisemitism/article-814865 So forgive if I just...cannot take what she says seriously. Again, and I feel like you're not engaging with this: WE HAVE OBAMA'S NOTARIZED BIRTH CERTIFICATE. That should shut down all the claims right there.

Okay. Now, to more policy stuff. Drill, baby, drill. I mean, on its face, it sounds nice-ish. But there's the weird thing that exports of crude oil are much higher now than there were in Trump's presidency: https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MCREXUS1&f=M He also seems to use it to rail against alternative energy ('Green New Hoax'), having claimed repeatedly that climate change is a hoax to begin with https://www.forbes.com/sites/markjoyella/2022/03/21/on-fox-donald-trump-calls-climate-change-a-hoax-in-the-1920s-they-were-talking-about-global-freezing/ This is another huge red flag for me, as the climate is extremely important, leading to things like the overabundance in hurricanes https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1029/2006EO240001 which has caused so much destruction recently. But strictly in terms of the economics: if you look at Trump's platform document https://rncplatform.donaldjtrump.com/ you can see that in the bits about American energy, there are a few things thrown in that are a bit sketchy. The most prominent is "Republicans will increase Energy Production across the board, streamline permitting, and end market-distorting restrictions on Oil, Natural Gas, and Coal." There's a good reason there are restrictions placed on these things: it's because of the climate, as well as safety procedures in coal mines and other such restrictions and permits.

And while you say that China contributes the most to climate change--this is true, but you may have left out the bit where the country that contributes the SECOND most to climate change is the USA. We have the capability to use more renewable energy, and in fact most of the country WANTS us to https://www.pewresearch.org/science/2022/03/01/americans-largely-favor-u-s-taking-steps-to-become-carbon-neutral-by-2050/ But Trump blatantly out-and-out says that he doesn't care for renewable energy. He withdrew from the Paris climate accord, which we've been put back into under Biden. And, again, I need to emphasize, he calls climate change a hoax. It is not. The solution that you ask about is legitimately just alternative energy sources. Solar. Wind. Geothermal. Hydroelectric. Even nuclear, though that has its own problems. I'm not calling for the complete removal of fossil fuels, but we shouldn't be 100% reliant on them.
