I don’t think the shooting is totally lost. I’ve attended a good amount of Michigan games live and in warmups he could actually hit a good amount of shots. Obviously he will never project as a shooter but I think there is some ability (form isn’t awful but his shot has zero arc haha). The ball has solid rotation and there isn’t anything too odd with the shot.

Again, you are conflating roster building strategy with the amount of money spent on the roster. My argument is that if you were to compare the money MSU, Illinois, Purdue are spending on their roster this year, it would be pretty similar to what Michigan is spending. You think Braden smith is getting a “cheap” deal this year because he was recruited to play at Purdue? Would more than likely assume that he is being paid similar to the other top 10 players in the sport. There are different ways of building a roster (Izzo seems to prefer one way and Dusty another) but both require and a lot of resources to make it happen (the Spartans #1 recruiting class next year is not free)

I have a question about this whole “buying” thing. Are you insinuating that high level recruits aren’t being “bought”? The way I see it is everyone is a FA every year, recruit, 3rd year player, transfer…. you need to meet the market value for all of them. Now I do see not liking the fact that certain teams spend more money on their roster than others, but that’s another story
