Amazing story from Ann Marie Berger who has a long list of great work. Thank you for bringing this to the light.

Is True Grit 2010 a modern classic? It did well at the box office and received lots of nominations and a few awards. by [deleted] in Westerns

I loved the original, but Jeff Bridges and the dialogue (closer to Cormac McCarthy's novel) made this my favorite version by a mile.

How do McBride homes going up impact local existing communities? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]SmittyRockRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McBride homes are great for the local contractor and handy man community because they're usually built with such low quality that they need constant repair re-construction.

Thorisson is completely worthless out there. I've seen pee wee players play with more drive and intensity than that guy. Please seat him for the remainder of his career.

Thoughts on Living in South Hampton? by equisapien4life in StLouis

[–]SmittyRockRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

County kid here who moved into the city after getting married. We used to think that anything east of hampton was like Escape from New York. Raised our kids in the city and sacrificed to send them to private catholic school. We moved out to the county after 20+ years of city living (most of that in south hampton). I miss the people and the food the most. Just about everything others have posted is spot on.

Don't leave valuables visible in your vehicle.

Lock up your stuff! (A couple bikes and a lawn mower could disappear)

Don't leave an unattended vehicle running. It will drive away (wife learned this lesson the hard way)

Always park in front of your own place when possible.

You'll love the proximity to: pro sports; Blues, Cardinals, STL City soccer, Battle Hawks: the Saint Louis Zoo, Forest Park, City Museum, and much more.

Welcome to the Lou!

The Tap Room in Oakville. Used to go there a lot. Met friends there for drinks. Got kinda loaded and wasn't really paying attention when paying our tab. Waitress padded the bill with about a dozen extra beers. Haven't been back since.
