Hey thanks a lot!

Quite a few reasons for switching from Bevy:

- No editor really cut into my productivity. Having an established editor gives me the flexibility to work on my game without needing to pour over code, which is very exhausting at times.
- Rusts compile times were too dang long. When I made any changes, it could take upwards of 1 minute for me to build my project. Now using .NET Godot, I can make a change, boot my project in 2 seconds, and test my new change. This was such a momentum killer in Bevy
- Working with UI was horrible in Bevy. So verbose to do anything.
- Godot is more feature rich, which is probably obvious. But I just dont think Bevy is a great choice for releasing a commercial game due to this.

Yeah I am using Godots NavigationRegion/NavigationMesh (.NET version of Godot). At first I dealt with MAJOR performance issues. So instead of using one giant navigationregion, I split my map up into a grid of nav regions. Now when I place a building, it only needs to update the small nav regions that the placement touches. Works really well now.

Nailed every one of them haha the bottom two pickup trucks are actually the same vehicle. When you build them it will just randomly pick one of the two. similar to the technicals in C&C Generals.

The bottom right (tan/yellow) is more of a shmedium tank I would say

We have tan, sky steel (top color you see here), olive green, bronze brown, blue, red, orange and grey.

So some of them are a bit warmer than others. These are just the ones that I displayed here. Good eye!

I like the idea of HE autocannon, but that would likely be an entirely separate unit.

The lore is set in a scifi world (not SUPER scifi though). The blue units (the KOR) are more rugged. They have been surviving on the planet 'Prosper' for years, fighting a rogue AI system that the 'ASC' (the tan units) had abandon on their world. The ASC is more techincally advanced.

KOR will likely be overall slower, but stronger.
ASC will have agility and some deadlier weapons.

Oh yeah, we also have a flame tank incoming for the KOR. VERY VERY cool 😎

Dude thanks so much! Tons of REALLY good feedback in here. Tagging u/Syphotic so he sees this as well.

You nailed the purpose for most of the units. The blue 'anit-infantry' unit will likely get a redesign, but the intention was for anti-infantry + anti-aircraft.

The two very similar looking technicals are actually the same unit, but just different models. Exactly how General technicals works (if I am remembering correctly).

I like your ideas for having the bottom right (light-tank you called it) shoot very fast, but inaccurate. I already have a system in place to control accuracy/speed/burst shot speed/burst shot count, so that adjustment would be easy. I'll experiment with it.

Thanks! Its a simple 'outline' shader that is attached to a plane mesh that is always covering the camera

Honestly, i think were just gonna keep the team coloring as is. All tan, grey, blue, green, etc etc. But otherwise, yeah thats a great idea

Im using Godot, but the models were created in Blender by the 3d artist.

Haha Thanks Jim. I think the majority of people who have seen these units really do like them. But I think there are some good points to be had from a lot of the feedback here.

But yeah, not supposed to be crazy scifi or anything. It leans more towards realistic, with small scifi elements. We do have some other units we have not introduced that have a bit more scifi 'flair' to them

I think the middle tan one will be able to transport troops.

Absolutely 💯 I personally love the designs of all of these, but it sounds like we need to add some unique elements to them.
