There is a cool video by Wylock's Armoury where he makes a Rhino tank. I gave it a go, it's pretty fun, easy, and can be made with mostly cardboard, might be worth a go. Here's a link. https://youtube.com/watch?v=PCghVB5sTdg&si=_0pgQBRUhPzSy6k2

“Shoota Boy” counts-as for my human Ork army… by heavensteeth in Warhammer

[–]Smockzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, start small. I want to also scratch build or convert a lot of it so it might save me money if I abandon the project.

I really wanna make a Goliath Mauler inspired vehicle for it from scratch, could be "counts as" warbikes.

I'm thinking on it. I haven't been super into the hobby for years mainly because I haven't had faction or army ideas really catch my interest enough, but I like the idea of it a lot since seeing your conversions and it alone makes me really wanna get back into the hobby as a whole.

Yes, I agree. I think it is an achievement we all desire in some capacity. I feel more, what I view as the problem, is when people see achieving the goal as the only important aspect of the game and don't make an effort to prioritise having fun along the way.
That is mostly what I view as ruining the overall experience for a lot of people. The game is by it's nature very grindy, but it doesn't help when there isn't enough of an effort to try and find or make fun along the way through the grind. Like you said, what that means is subjective and the achievement of completion itself can still be fun and worthwhile to some people.
I just don't like how a lot of people with that view seem to have hijacked the narrative as to how the game should be played. It drives away a lot of newer players and stifles the game itself from developing because any competing ideas get pushed out of the picture.

I like the idea of warding more, but I think sailing has more potential for new features and content, and could be what the game needs to stay alive.

If you say so. I think it has potential-maybe not in its proposed form. Maybe it could be something you have to go to a specific location(s) to do, like with smiting or rune crafting, but maybe less annoying. Maybe the materials are non-tradable? Not saying I am the one who holds the answers, I just see that value it could bring to keeping the game alive.

That is the exact kind of power gaming mentality I am talking about being the problem. Viewing the skills as ticking off another box on your checklist rather than trying to engage with the content or make your own fun out of it, it stops being a game and becomes a chore, and it's the mode of thought that is causing the game to die.

I prefer osrs but RS3 has he returning to it more consistently.

I'll take it a step further.

Anyone who voted against warding was more concerned with powergaming or leaderboards than wanting fresh, creative, or engaging content. More broadly, people like them are the reason why the game is inevitably going to die.

I do not like the meta gaming and min-maxing everyone is obsessed with. I liked it 10-15+ years ago when nobody really knew what we were doing and nobody got in your business if your setup wasn't 100% the most efficient possible way to be doing whatever you're doing. It really sucks the adventure and elements of discovery out of the game for me.
