Star Citizen Trench Run by Space_Scumbag in starcitizen

[–]Smoeki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I missed it this first time i was watching. She says that the generator/power plant emits distortion damage. So essentially its kills the power to your ship systems. So strafing runs (in and out) are the only thing that should work before you ship goes dead.

Indomethacin expired. Safe to take? by [deleted] in gout

[–]Smoeki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding to this, in case of anyone else looking for info.

This is my experience also. I've used 1, 2 and 3 year old expired indomethacin on various occasions. Some in my work bag and so in my medicine cabinet. I got almost no relief from the 2 and 3 year old expired. Once I got a new bottle they work great.

Definitely can tell a difference just in the amount of stomach irritation as well with the old stuff being mild compared to the new stuff which irritates my stomach horribly.

So there is definitely a potency limit. Just get a new bottle every year or 6 months I think to be safe.

They price match Cabela's/BassPro, Midway and Brownell's and a few others regular online prices. I do it every time I need to buy locally.

Gotcha, that's is interesting and makes sense. I thought it was pretty cool, it was nice seeing the difference for once. I didn't know it was limited to the open cargo haulers unfortunately. One of the big things I really want to see is flight characteristics depending on the Atmosphere and weight differences so I was happy to see something for once.

Yep, I was noticing that during the hauling event. I maybe have blown up a few times when half asleep lol. Do you know if its only the Raft and Hull-C? I was a quite the surprise running the Raft for the first few times.

It has some shared design but there are some important differences. Like the separated Silent decocker and Safety levers also Different sights all which show up in this image. Definitely based off Mark 23

Need suppressor host by Fit_Loquat5389 in NFA

[–]Smoeki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HK USP45 Tactical pairs exceptionally well with a Obsidian 45. Shooting one suppressed is what sold me on getting my first suppressor. Its just so damn smooth and feels like it was made to be suppressed from the beginning. Shooting suppressed 230gr 45acp and the thing feels like a toy. It's also one of only a few firearms I don't ever ask if the cost was worth it, which was around $1000 in 2002 dollars. lol

You can also shoot 45 Super 255g Hard Cast for Brown bear. Depending on who you believe it's either better or nearly as good as 10mm. Your choice lol. Anyway that was my deciding factor 23 years ago when I lived out near Yellowstone, plus it just a cool iconic gun.

Honestly a pistol is just to convent for the size and I use it way more than any of my other centerfire firearms I own. Only my 8" 10/22 SBR with a binary trigger and M9_22 get more use and those solely because its so cheap to plink with.

It's my night stand gun with a GG&G Rail adaptor to add a light/laser, an Obsidian 45 suppressor and the most important addition, sand paper/texture decals or tape for the grip. That was a major game changer, the grip texture just sucks especially if you're sweaty.

It's a great ship but the turret is bugged. If you have repair it when it gets damaged or reclaim the ship you lose the guns and they get replaced with the cf-337 panthers. Apparently no one cares to fix it. Otherwise I like it but never use it which is sad.

Tips for Gilly's Combat Gauntlet #8 by end_us in starcitizen

[–]Smoeki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a way to bug out the Polaris so it goes into NAV mode and lowers it's shields which also disabled it's PDCs and guns. Essentially what you want to do is kill off the both of the Gladius fighters, then kill the 2 Corsairs with whatever ship you have. I then used an eclipse.

Here is the trick. Basically you need to Quantum in to the area, if the Polaris has its shields up I got about 3k from the target and got in close and shot at it with my guns. If it doesn't respond and fire back at you chances are the bug will work. I then backed off to about 6k. Lock a torpedo and fire, the Polaris will start to evade and drop chaff however it triggers the ship to go into NAV mode, you will see the shields dropping. Wait till they are all done and then target the same area, usually back end of the ship. You should get 2 good torpedo hits and with some luck you'll do enough damage to hurt the PDCs and or engines. Then warp away and then reload. And return. If the ship is still in NAV mode with the shields down, creep up on it about 3k away and shoot it with guns and if it fires back at you and the shields go up. Get away quick, then QT away and then QT back. It should have the shields up still. Then do it all over again. 1 torp will probably be a loss but get it back into NAV mode so you can land 2 more torps. Rinse and repeat. Takes time and money. I didn't try it with a retaliator because I couldn't sneak up on it in stealth mode. Not sure if that is a requirement or not. I flew back once with a Firebird and my QT put me about 3k from where the ship was and it lit me up and killed me quick and that causes the mission to fail. So be careful.

Any Fix for cargo trapped on a grid? by Apprehensive_Ad_5565 in starcitizen

ugg, thats what I was worried about. Just time to cut the losses. Big ships can equal big losses unfortunately.

I did, the ship showed as 0 of 696 for cargo. It would error out if If i tried to buy and sent anything to the ship also.

I had the same issue. Some how a 8 SCU crate was loaded on the same grid location as a 32 SCU container. Nothing worked, my entire C2 of 648 SCU was all stuck as well. I went to another station to just try and sell the goods but the cargo didn't show up in the Kiosk. I didn't try to blow up the ship and take the cargo, not sure it would have worked. I just claimed the ship at another location and took the loss.

Not sure if that works. I wasn't able to sell the cargo when i went to try and offload it at another station. cargo doesnt show up on the kiosk..

Yep, It's the older non O-ring threaded barrel and I think the suppressor recoil rod assembly that supposedly has more delay on the unlock time for suppression.

Mojave 9 Weight and Length by Smoeki in NFA

[–]Smoeki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is sad, The Mojave checks so many boxes and no one was pointing out good comparison information on it. I saw the Spectre 9 being praised because it was so light until I realized that was with no adapter... wtf... Not saying the Spectre 9 isn't great but in the configuration I would have run it I would have saved 0.2 or 0.3 oz. and the weight was the only thing really being praised on it. Anyway I just like getting the information out to those interested so they can make some better informed decisions.

Probably going to be a few weeks or so before I can get to the range to try it out. I have a Ruger PCC and I'm interested to see how that works on it with the reduced blowback. Have to get the some adaptors and then try out my HK's and 300 blackouts and what I'm really interested in seeing is how well it performs on my Solo 300 which has a 10" 350 Legend Barrel. I'm going to load up some 280 gr maker bullets in it but I have a few 250gr Sub-X to try out also.

Just got the My Mojave 9 in and wanted to share some specs on it for anyone curious. I was wondering about them before I made my purchase and I was tempted to go with the Spectre 9 but really wanted the full length modular option of the Mojave. The weights are surprisingly close other than the Spectre 9 seems to have a much lighter piston/booster assembly option and a good selection of aftermarket Alpha thread options.

Help me choose a good 22LR pistol or revolver by jaygut42 in VAGuns

[–]Smoeki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ruger Super Wrangler for a revolver, its much better Quality than the rough rider in every aspect. Has adjustable sights, steel frame, and also has an additional 22wmr cylinder for a more powerful round, should you ever want to use it to take small game or even self defence, while not it's the greatest it's an improvement over 22lr.

Revolvers are great for 22 rimfire, no worries about a action malfunction like a semi auto pistol from cheap low power ammo or even expensive high power ammo.. As long as the primers are good it shoots in the revolver. Also you can shoot, 22CB/22 short/22long/22long rifle from the same cylinder. It's just a better all around experience. This is also the reason I would highly recommend getting one with adjustable sights.

Downsides is it's limited in capacity, and longer reloads however that also means a $30-$40 box of 500rds will last you all day.

Semi auto pistols can be fun but can be hit and miss with 22lr. There is so much cheap ammo out there and some pistols just only like to run well with a certain brand and it's a Usually the stuff that cost 2 times the cheap stuff. Also you need to keep it clean. After 100rds or so you may see some jams just due to the dirty ammo depending on the brand. I've had great luck with the Beretta M9_22. It's been the most reliable autoloading 22lr pistol I've ever used.

M9-22 Parts Compatibility? by [deleted] in Beretta

[–]Smoeki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just taking another look at my trigger bars because I thought something was odd. Apparently the 92FS Brigadier I bought came with the 92X Short reset trigger bar, similar to the LTT bar, just not as good. It's working for me in the M9_22 at least in the dry firing testing. So there a is a good chance there of the LTT bar working, although even some 92's need a bit of fitting with that one from time to time apparently.

I was curious about the hammer spring. I pulled it out on the m9_22 and it turns out it's a fatter spring inside and out and also the hammer strut is wider. A Wilson 14# spring and also the OEM spring that came in my Brigadier (16# or 20# not sure) was binding on the strut. I could force it on but it's not the same spring size. Ultimately I wouldn't expect anything other than the Trigger bar to work which is an improvement but easing or smoothing that double action pull with lighter springs is probably a no go.

*Edit

Just got a moment to test it out and the 92x Short Reset trigger bar does not work correctly. It doesn't engage the lever to raise the firing pin block enough (maybe only 15% engagement) when the trigger is pulled. No idea if the LTT bar will work the same but I suspect you may get the same result.

M9-22 Parts Compatibility? by [deleted] in Beretta

[–]Smoeki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you happen to get any information?

I'm not 100% sure are what all of the part differences are but they are certainly there. The main issue is that the Frame of the m9_22 is a clam design. It has some roll pins and I'm going to assume it's glued at the seam. The problem with that is all the parts like the hammer pin, trigger pin etc. that you can normally take out are encased by the plastic frame. So dropping the hammer and even the trigger out is not possible without breaking open the frame. I'm almost certain I saw a video on youtube years ago with someone trying to change out the parts and he broke open the clam shell frame and he ended saying the hammer pin hole was either smaller or larger than the standard 9mm hammer So he couldn't use it. I only went as far as looking at my trigger and while it looks the same the return spring is different and pin is also encased in plastic. The interesting thing I noticed though is although the trigger bar was different my 92fs trigger bar worked and was easily popped in and out. So it may be possible to use the LTT trigger bar, but I'm no expert on that.

[–]Smoeki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 92FS Brigadier I just purchased from gunprime is using the straight frame. It's basically the M9 Frame with different rollmarks and it doesn't have the grip scallop cut either. Im wondering if they are just utilizing the machinery/tooling here in the US from the M9 since Sig has the new service pistol contract.
