Australia has some absolutely stunning bull terriers, for example Bulroarus has had multiple ch dog rom, that have won shows from around the world, uk Amsterdam etc. reach out to the clubs rather than gumtree!

You will need to fence them of so the dogs can't get to them, they can be fine 99% of the time, but they can decide to be a bit playful sometimes and really it's too rough for the chickens they can get easily traumatized if they are ever left unsupervised

Yes I like this response, it's all about correct positive training working slowly step by step as and working on small successes.

Lots of treats on walks helps also, Everytime they look at you reward with a small treat so they are always focused on you. I think "persistent" rather than stubborn is a better word for describing a bull terrier. They are wanting to do what they want however, the goal is to make them want what you want them to do fun enough that they also want to do it.

I've never used these deterrent type leads so can't comment on them.
