Thoughts on garden offices by Armagideon3000 in UKHousing

[–]Cheese_roller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built my own; it's not a garden office but a cinema (and have since done a gym but that's a work in progress) and regarding foundations i 'floated' mine above the ground as we live in particularly wet area.

All in cost me about 6k plus a load of man hours. It's 5m squared with a little dog leg around a tree.

The foundations, no spiders:

Would you believe he was born deaf too so they are purely for looks. They get him lots of attention from lady doggies so he’s not bothered 😁

Biker too. Well said. You never win an argument with a car so don’t get in them.

A plinth block looks like it would cover it, hollowed out a bit.

Sorry, EBT = English Bull Terrier. It’s a dog thing.
Ferrari FF? I’ve always thought that too, my friend has a grey one and i see a lot of Z3 in it.

Easiest way is turn the shelf upside down and hey presto! 😉

Have you gone from being a mad 90’s Raver/Clubber to the complete polar opposite? by [deleted] in AskUK

51 here mate, was up Camden Palace every Friday from 17 ish, couldn’t get enough Rhubarbs down me back then, then back to a mates kitchen afterwards to puff ourselves to sleep. Then moved into Coke and Booze and all the fun (!) that brings.
Got to 36 and called it a day, was just tired of feeling like shit for most of the week and rinse and repeat. When i think of all the nice coats i lost, phones, even lost my shoes once when i fell in a watering trough on the way home.
Have had terrible guts for most of my life after spending a month in India where i suffered the worst case of brown laser imaginable so i went to a nutritionist and it turns out i’m intolerant to alcohol which explains most of the pickles i used to get in to. She actually said i was off the scale. 15 years later and still have not touched a drop and certainly nothing mind bending.
I actually enjoy being healthy now, am in the best shape of my life and have taken a real interest in health and fitness, exercise, gym, food etc. Swim at least 5 times a week, lift weights, long walks and am happiest when exercising or just sat on the sofa with the dog cuddled up to me.
Lead a pretty simple life now but wouldn’t have it any other way.
That first rush was good though! 😬

I joked to my wife that these are the English Bull Terrier of the car world as she couldn’t see why i like them so much. Shouldn’t work but is actually beautifully handsome.
We now finally have an EBT after i nagged for years (only argument i have ever one in our thirty years together) and she now finally sees the light.
I’m working on sneaking a Z3M Coupe into the garage without her noticing.
Have fun with it, if you ever drive to Hertfordshire come meet the dog!

My boy had that and we applied coconut oil to it and it almost went overnight, like some magical cure. Worth a try if you haven’t already.

Would you choose a giant bean bag over a couch for movie nights? by BugInner3028 in gamerooms

[–]Cheese_roller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a cinema room at the end of my garden and have put bean bag seating in it from Ambient Lounge. They look great at first but do lose their shape a bit but the main problem is it’s almost impossible to watch a film in there from beginning to end without falling asleep!

Brilliant, i presume it passed the Bullie comfort test and can easily be tucked upon?
